Trigger. It seems so wrong to lust after another man's guitar. But Ive never heard a guitar sound sweeter that Willie Nelson playing it live.

I would love to go buy a gibson R9, ice tea finish, with a lightly flamed top (for some reason, I'm not too tops with over the top flame or quilt)

I have no specific dream instrument. I think it would be ideal to have several well-built guitars with different personalities. A Paul (or two), Strat (or two), Tele, and a couple metal guitars would more than satisfy me. With a couple odd acoustics thrown in there, of course. B)

A Page model Les Paul. I've played a few and the fretwork and the neck were just unbelievable! I'd probably undo the electronic mods, as I felt the contrast between the bridge and neck pickups was too big, and go back to stock, but otherwise that thing was like butter! I've owned dozens of guitars, and had many of them "massaged", but this fucker was a leap above anything I've ever touched. The closest I've come was my my 59 Custom Reissue, and my PRS Singlecut, but they still don't come close. Nor did my cocobola Ed Roman Quicksilver. It's a whole other world. I was truly stunned at how sweet the action and feel were. Gimme one of those!!! I'll even give up my custom Strat, which has many years of blood sweat and tears seasoned into it!

She will be mine, yes, she will be mine.

Altough I wouldn't mind one of these:

I'd settle for one of those too! :D

I'm currently looking at a Gretsch Electromatic Pro Jet for my next guitar. I reckon I'll have the money for it within about the next 6 months. After that I'll start working towards the Gibson LP Supreme :yay: .

The 2 Supremes I've seen in person sounded just ok, and the craftsmanship left a little to be desired, as there were several cosmetic flaws in the finer bits of the guitar. I am sure there are some kickass examples of the Supremes, but until they start makin payin more attention to detail, and lose the chambered body, the Les Paul SUPREME is just false advertisement.

If you are gonna get a Gibson, get a Custom Shop number

Agreed. They're not all they're cracked up to be. All cosmetics. No really exceptional craftsmanship. If it's a Gibson you want, you really need to go Custom Shop. Hell, my Epiphone Standard smokes my production Desert Burst Standard. Fit, finish, flame, tone. For 300 bucks!! Sure, the tuners are cheap crap, but I bought it for a beater, something I wouldn't worry about hurting, and it surprised the shit out of me! Made in China. Go figure! Stuck a set of Burstbuckers in it and Hey, this is all right!!

Any Gibson Les Paul would do. But preferably the Black Beauty Custom one <3 . I mean that guitar it's like totally love! Unfortunately, I don't think I can afford one soon, but an Epiphone Les Paul Custom would do it for me.

No! Don't make that mistake! Even if you win the lottery! Gibsons vary hugely in quality. There's nothing better than a really good Gibson, but a lot of them are crap. When you're ready to buy, play as many as you can. Screw the color. Find the one out of a dozen that sings like a bird. Find the one that feels right in your hands. Seriously: Play as many as you can before choosing your baby. This could be the guitar you keep for your whole life. Get to know it. This is your voice. Don't impulse buy just because it's a Gibson in your favorite color. I'm speaking from experience. I've made that mistake more than once, and have kicked myself for years. A guitar is like a wife (or a husband), they might fit your preferences at first, but when the flaws start to show...regret sets in. And sometimes you can't get a do over. Be selective. Don't hurry or let the excitement of buying it rush you. Find YOUR baby! And LOVE IT!

The Bosendorfer 290 Imperial is probably the greatest piano in the world. It takes more than a year for them to build one, It costs over $200,000, but it is absolutely incredible. I am not worthy of such a masterpiece.

BOSENDORFER290G.jpg

Originally built following a suggestion by composer Ferruccio Busoni, the Imperial has 97 keys, i.e. eight full octaves. This expanded range allows faithful performances of a number of compositions by Bartók, Debussy, Ravel and, not least, Busoni.

Combining a very powerful sound-board and a high proportion of sound-spruce from the Fiemme Valley in the South Tyrol, this piano’s sound is almost orchestral. The Bösendorfer “resonating box principle” which views the entire instrument as a cohesive whole, generates unsurpassed power and a poignantly full tone. Model 290 is our only standard grand piano model to have acquired an epithet when it was first built in around 1900: Imperial (lat. imperare, to order, command).

Its commanding presence in some of the world’s great concert halls sets the standard by which other grand pianos are judged.

Thanks for the advice, and thanks to Evster too.

It sure is a shame, I've had my heart set on that for a long time  . I didn't know that the body was chambered though.
