It's very much "Rocky Balboa" time for them, as far as people going to see them more as a circus curiosity to know whether they can make it through a 2 hour set without throwing out their backs (like Jimmy did at the end of the Crowes tour). So they can do it, but the age factor acts as a serious distraction from the music. They were able to barely pull it together for the O2 and I wouldn't blame Robert for being worried whether he could continue to "sing his nuts off" as he calls it. So even if they did mount something, it would be pretty scary because you just know they're on borrowed time, at least for Jimmy and Robert. Lets face it....the only reason there was that P&P reunion in the mid 90's was because (for better or worse) it was on Roberts terms...and as soon as Robert lost a bit of zest or control of the partnership (the long world tour) he backed away. I always thought that for nearly 15 years Jimmy has caved way too much in to what Robert wants...or what Robert's demands are. If RP doesn't want to have a reunion he's entitled to it. Jimmy shouldn't allow himself to be a slave to someone elses demands and for gods sake if it turns out that no reunion tour happens then move on and create some new music. Unless you a misguided lunatic with some type of hidden agenda, I can't see anyone coming away with the same feeling from Atlantic's 40th, and the 02.
