PLANT BUYS BOOTLEG ZEPPELIN RECORDS

Recommended Posts

LED ZEPPELIN frontman ROBERT PLANT loves buying bootleg copies of his band's work - but refuses to pay full price for the records.

The rocker loves finding shops selling the illegal copies reminding him of the past, but Plant ensures he gets the one-off recordings for half-price because he threatens the sellers with the wrath of unforgiving bandmember Jimmy Page.

He says, "(There are shops on London's West End) selling Led Zeppelin bootlegs on vinyl which are very nice too. I brought two copies of the Paris Theatre show, from London in 1972.

"Well, they looked a bit sheepish. When they tried to charge me full price I said , 'Don't do that or I'm gonna send Jimmy Page round?'"

it could have been Alexandra Palace? I always get that placed mixed up with Paris Cinema. (some boots can be misleading) or it could even be the writers fault.

anyhow I think it's cool ol' Bobby was seen buying boots. :o

I suppose paying half is reasonable as it means that the store itself, which paid wholesale/trade price for the record, doesn't loose as much, but doesn't make a profit either.

I wouldn't pay for them though. And If I worked in the store I wouldn't charge him.

I guess you could keep a jar for donations near the check-out stand.

It would be priceless just to see the look on the face of the person working the register.

Robert Plant in their place of business, buying a boot. Too damn cool.

But they're the only ones who BUY music anymore, all the kids download. I'll go engage with him and show him all the new bootlegs just in from Japan. Send out the Geisha's, mood enhancement will produce sales!

He might even sing, "Thanks for the memories".
