Audacity
Frank Zappa w Jon Luc Ponty Very cool, you're the first person I've ever know to have seen Frank in Australia. Must've been the summer of 1973. I have a recording of one of these shows. June 24th Horden Pavillion, Sydney. Is this the one you attended ?

Audacity
Sounds about right. Absolutely brilliant. I loved that jazzier period of Zappa with George Duke, Ponty, the Fowler Bros., Chester Thompson, Ruth Underwood etc. Frank did play several shows there in 1973 and 1976. He was generous to you from the land down under! http://www.killuglyradio.com/features/gigs...type=perCountry

TheZeppyWanderer
These lists are very impressive, I'm envious already - and from what I know, there could be some totally mindblowing ones to come. It is so true that we don't know what we've got till it's gone. My own list wouldn't be as impressive as these IMO, so I'll save it for another day. Walk like an Egyptian...) -UB40 -10,000 Maniacs -Peter Frampton (late 80s/early 90s in a club; front row!!) -The Dixie Chicks (goodbye Earl, lol) -Dave Matthews Band w/Neil Young (while 8.5 mos pregnant, ) -The Eagles -Maroon 5 w/The Hives & Sarah Bareilles (my older daughter's 1st concert!) Julianna Theory Willie Nelson Pierre Bensusan I think thats pretty much it. I was pretty jealous of the other lists but looking at mine I haven't done too badly either. Only regrets are not seeing Dick Dale (get well soon!), more grunge bands back in the early nineties, more new bands this decade. Still on my to see list are The Chili Peppers, Prince and virtuoso guitarits like Satriani, Vai or Johnson

JethroTull
Starting around 1968 and ending in 1978 I worked as a stage hand/roadie/lighting tech for all the big venues in and around NYC. I worked 7 days a week. Morning till night. Madison Square Garden, The Capitol Theater, Nassau Colesium, The Calderone Theater, Fillmore East, The Academy of Music a.k.a. The Paladium. Also did some shows at CBGB's, The Ritz and some of the other smaller venues. We were union and proud of it. I saw EVERYBODY several times. Alice Cooper had the best groupies. ALL the bands tossed groupie scraps our way and we had our fun. Drugs, I did 'em all. Lot's of 'em. I got boxes and boxes of stuff in storage, autographed 8X10 press pictures, drumsticks, underwear, signed LP's. Plus some stuff I robbed, sorry Mr. Bowie. Zappa was very polite.
