Leon Russell

I've got a nice shot of him back in the 70's at the Oakland Stadium.

He's playing a red Les Paul.

Also have a great shot of Robin Trower at Winterland.

Jefferson Starship

What were they like?

I've seen them twice. In 1978 they were pretty good. Grace Slick had started to get a bit wacky from drinking so much, but she still sang well. They were supporting their album called "Earth". The ballads were for the most part boring, but the rockers kicked ass! They were doing Ride the Tiger and songs from Red Octopus and Spitfire too. Then in 1984 or so they were awful. They got that Mickey Thomas guy on vocals which just ruined it.

Here's the lineup when I saw them the first time, 1978

Grace Slick - vocals

Marty Balin - vocals

Paul Kantner - rhythm guitar, vocals

Craig Chaquico - lead guitar

Pete Sears - bass, keyboards

David Freiberg - keyboards, vocals

Johnny Barbata - drums

In 1984, they had a different drummer and the aforementioned Mickey Thomas on duo vocals with Grace, but they had lost their spark. I had free tickets that's why I went, otherwise I'd have skipped it.

I'm with Dzldoc, much easier to name who I haven't seen.

Man, something is still freaky with this board..................

Yep, I didn't see...Hendrix, Cream, The real Who, Peter Greens Pleetwood Mac, or the original Santana

Did Def Leppard ever open for anyone back in the mid 80s? I'm thinking I might have seen them as an opening act, (for Heart, maybe?) but then again I might have them confused with someone else.

That's a great lineup, for that group. Grace Slick did have a strong voice, but it seems to me she was detrimental to live performances (other than the visual appeal). Balin supposedly couldn't stand her.

I saw Mickey Dolenz at the Alameda Fair in Calif. in the late 90's. He played guitar and sang and was actually pretty good. I got some nice pics of him too. B)

This is just off the top of my head...I don't know where the heck I stuck the booklet with all my ticket stubs in it. Oh, and I'm trying to think somewhat chronologically here, so don't read the first few and freak out at me. You can diss it after reading the whole thing, though...I'm a little disappointed with it myself. The only bands I've seen since 2005 are Kasabian, The Killers, Dirty Sweet, and Roger Waters, so the list isn't exactly indicative of my current interests.

N'Sync

Unwritten Law

The Doors (once)

I would never be able to list all the concerts I've seen, but I would probably trade them ALL in (except for Robert Plant) just to see the Doors once.
