Matthew!
Check 'im out, he plays really laid back acoustic stuff. Very relaxing and interesting at the same time. Some of his songs are inspired by D&D, which I found a little funny. But hey, there's nothing wrong with D&D if it inspires music like this. He has a bunch of videos on youtube. Here are just a few. Watch them! (favorite) Dreamcatcher (another favorite) (he uses a harp guitar here - ooooh )
the queen without a king
Andy McKee is very interesting. Acoustic playing with a twist. There's another similar player named Don Ross and he's awesome. In fact I like his stuff a lot more.
Matthew!
And I was just beginning to think this thread was going to get no replies! Andy McKee is very interesting. Acoustic playing with a twist. There's another similar player named Don Ross and he's awesome. In fact I like his stuff a lot more. Apparently they know each other - there are several videos of them playing together on youtube. I haven't gotten around to any of them though.
metal box
Check 'im out, he plays really laid back acoustic stuff. Very relaxing and interesting at the same time. Some of his songs are inspired by D&D, which I found a little funny. But hey, there's nothing wrong with D&D if it inspires music like this. A few contradictions there: 'laid back acoustic stuff' and 'interesting', and 'D&D' and 'inspired'. Watched Ebon Coast, he's good. If you just listen, and aren't watching him playing, it sounds like he's using overdubs. Cool.
