I can't see why so many people put down Plant for doing this, he's a true artist that has a big brain and needs to do these things for his own creative stimulation. That's what made Zeppelin so great to begin with. Plant did the right thing for holding off on further Zeppelin shows till later to do this because, let's face it, he's 60, has a new hit platinum album, has been winning grammy's and CMT awards for it, so he deserves to tour to support it to his satisfaction. It shows he is not resting on past laurels. Lord knows most other artists at his age (or any age) would go for the quick cash grab (LZ tour). Plant has shown some real integrity here, and that he clearly is NOT a one trick pony (which we already knew). He has the world by the balls at this point, and can do guaranteed sellout Zeppelin dates any time he wishes after he is done. Not a bad position to be in.
