Does that include the ones who rag on Dick Cheney's heart condition?

B)

or made all the cruel remarks when Charlton Heston and Ronald Reagan died?

The outrage is somewhat subjective...

Wouldn't wish cancer on anyone, but I wouldn't wish drowning on anyone either.

There are many who see this as, to use a recently resurrected phrase, Ted's chickens coming home to roost.

Ted maybe had TOO MANY chickens who came home to roost before Chappaquiddick.

First, his oldest brother Joe gets killed fighting in WWII, his brother John gets a quarter of his skull blown off in Texas, and then the brother he felt closest to, Bobby, gets shot and killed in a hotel kitchen in L.A. That's three brothers killed.

So, I'm guessing Ted was probably not handling reality in the proper way in a year later after Bobby's death, when the Chappaquiddick drowning of Mary Jo Kopechne occured. Excusable? No way in hell. There was a definite cover-up by Ted and his handlers, that should have been dealt with by being truthful -- and going to get medical help ASAP even if she had already passed.

But, I'm responding just to say that life threw a lot of difficult stuff at Edward "Ted" Kennedy before Chappaquiddick ever happened.

Maybe that's why he became such a great Senator, with health care, education and the poor.
