BDG
can't believe my luck!!! life long fan (now 42), just too young to make knebworth, given up hope of ever seeing the band that shaped my youth. like everyone else, waited with baited breath for the confirmation e-mail from the ballot......never came....shit....another dream gone! last friday, sat having lunch with my friendly buisness bank manager, when she casually asked the table if anyone was a fan of Led Zeppelin.....she had been ringing around clients trying to off-load 2 tickets.......after a few nervous days wait, she called me today to say that everything was confirmed & the tickets were mine!!! now, i know these are corporate tickets & i can understand if this rubs for some of you, but to be honest i really don't care!!! hope you understand my elation!!!! BDG Congrats, that's fantastic. If they're going to someone, I'm glad it's a fan. The only annoying thing is the idea that there are golden tickets out there in the hands of people who are "trying to off-load" them. So, will you get me a t-shirt? Want On Song
Likewise! Just heard from a lifelong friend that he has corporate tickets, which, at first, didn't quite ring true, but at 46 I'll take it!! Anyway, was lucky enough to do the sleep deprivation, soaking wet in the rain, food fight etc at Knebworth. At least you canreally concentrate on the music at O2. croquet'n'cocaine
There's some heartwarming stories coming out of this frantic ticket search. I got mine from a guy I used to work with. We always got on well and shared plenty of beers, but the one thing we really had in common was an undying love of Led Zep, and neither of us had other friends who'd heard anything more than Stairway To Heaven. We went to see Robert Plant together and I got hold of a bootleg of that show for him which he was really chuffed about. Over the last few years since we stopped working together we've occasionally kept in touch and had the odd beer from time to time. So, anyway, I got a call from him out of the blue after the second ballot draw. He had the magic key and *tearful* immediately had me down for the spare ticket. What a geezer. I told people on another music forum I go on and there's a Zep superfan there who didn't have a ticket. Made me feel terribly guilty (see previous post on this forum!) and I was still entering competitions etc in the hope that I could pass on the favour done to me. Then someone else on that forum got the key too, and couldn't go, so they passed it on to him. Joy all round! Seems to me that these tickets are slowly filtering their way to the right people and giving others the opportunity to do something really kind and thoughtful at the same time and feel good themselves. There will be a few people at the show who just got given a ticket and shrugged and thought, might as well go I suppose... but the vast majority will be in the hands of the good guys, no doubt about it. That all sounds a bit sentimental and gushy doesn't it. Well, I'm still in just that kind of mood after getting my ticket, so there you go. Aquamarine
Congrats to you and to BDG, that's really cool. This just underlines the point that there are a lot of good people out there, and that most Zep fans look out for each other. *Edited for speling

allbettsareoff
I think it is great that they went to a real fan! I got a ticket from a friend who's wife could not attend and as you I have been waiting since 79. I also thought it would never happen this is bigger than any concert in history I don't think the whole world ever looked this close at one band and one show ever maybe Woodstock and we will be there. this is not only a chance to see the greatest band ever but a chance to be apart of history. Good luck to everyone traveling the long distance to London and I hope evryone stays safe. I hope it is the best show ever! goon1399
After reading some of the stories behind getting tickets, I thought I would post mine. First off, I'm 38 years old and can actually remember where and when a friend of mine said "You should listen to this group.."Led Zeppelin"..It was a bootleg concert and It was awesome..Then I was hooked and for the past 22 years I've bought and listened to everything Zep. Needless to say, I'm a huge fan. I couldn't believe the reunion was going to be in London. I registered for tickets thinking that IF I won, I'd sell them and watch the concert on T.V. (I mean, 1 out of 25 million, come on) Then October 1st rolls around and I get the e-mail with link and the password, now what?? I can't just hop a plane and go to London. I know this is going to make some people angry, but I sold the password on ebay. As the auction was ending, I read that the passwords weren't any good for anyone else to use, so I told the winning bidder that I would have to refund his money and that I wasn't trying to scam him. The next day he sent me an e-mail wanting to know, if he got me to London, "would I take him to the show?" Are you kidding me? (I talked to him and found out he was waiting in line for tickets at the Forum in Montreal when their last tour was cancelled) The best part is, my cousin lives in London,(place to stay) so after some e-mails to her and my new friend in Montreal, he traded in some frequent flyer miles and sent me an e-ticket with all my flight plans. So, for the first time in my life, (and I hope, not the last time) I'm going to see LED ZEPPELIN...I still can't believe it!!
