How I know I'm Zeppelin-obsessed ...

You know you're Zeppelin obsessed when...

... you bought a cherry sunburst Les Paul solely because of Jimmy Page and because it was "his" guitar (This is very true! I bought it brand new in 1991. Still love it. Is a gorgeous guitar and have indeed played it. Unfortunately not anywhere as good as the legend that inspired it's purchase...) wink.gif

... you think the fruit tangerine was named after the song!

... likewise, you think the lemon was something first planted and grown by Robert Plant...

... you think a "carouselambra" is a merry go round you can find at the fair or circus...

... you've spent countless days, nights and hours shuffling songs and running orders in the attempt to make your own personal custom perfect 4 disc Led Zeppelin box set (very true here)...

... you have every Zeppelin album on just about every format possible, multiple times over... (very true here as well)

... you can't see a lunch sack or take a brown paper bag to work without thinking of the In Through the Out Door album...

... some of their songs are so damn beautiful and amazing that you've been driven to literal tears at times... (true again)

... you find that you have an appreciative fascination with zeppelin airships, the hindenburg, airmail stamps etc largely because of Led Zeppelin itself! (true again for me)

... you have played with Led Zeppelin III and Physical Grafitti (the covers) just as much as you've listened to the albums themselves...

... you not only think John Bonham is the greatest drummer ever but you don't even think that whoever is #2 is even within a 100 light years of him! (i must admit I do believe this is true, speaking for myself...)

... you would not only not know of the beautiful music made with it, but would not even know what a mellotron is if it weren't for John Paul Jones! (once again, true for me I must say...)

... you've rigged every "greatest vocalist" poll to not only show Robert Plant at #1, but also at #2 and #3 as well...

... you're still convinced that Jimmy Page should've shared co-honors with Albert Einstein as the most important figure of the 20th century!

... you can name every album and every running order without taking a breath yet stumble over your own social security number...

... you can't remember a thing that you learned from Introductory to Algebra or English 101 but you could write a nobel-prize worthy paper on the subtleties and variations of the In Through the Out Door covers! (this is partly true I must say...) wink.gif

... you'd have no idea how to play or win money at "Wheel of Fortune" yet can intimately recall every graphic of the Led Zeppelin III spinning wheel...

... you can't watch or read anything about the Sahara Desert, Morocco or North Africa without literally thinking of Kashmir or Achilles Last Stand... (this is indeed largely true for me I must admit...)

... you still don't understand why Turner Classic Movies channel has never aired "The Song Remains the Same"...

... You'd be perfectly okay seeing the lyrics of a song like "Custard Pie" inside a Hallmark card...

... Many Zeppelin grooves have often provided hotter lust for you than real people of the opposite sex (my lips are sealed as to whether I'll reveal if this one is true or not...) wink.gif

... In science class, when asked what the essential elements necessary for life on earth are, you put water and oxygen somewhere below Led Zeppelin...

... Likewise, when asked what the periodic table symbols for water and oxygen are, you just simply wrote down "the four symbols"...

... you find the early to mid strings passage playing over Jimmy's guitar in "The Rain Song" to be so gorgeous and incredibly beautiful that you think it was the greatest Disney moment the band ever wrote! (this is definitely true for me - and I mean that as both a compliment to the band and to Disney...) wink.gif

... you feel equally the same about the lush gorgeous whimsical strings intro to "I'm Gonna Crawl"... (very true as well - both songs are quite possibly my very favorite ALL TIME Led Zeppelin songs, even though its really impossible to truly rank them all...)

... you still wonder why "the crunge" never caught on as a dance craze...

These are fun! wink.gif Okay, I'll stop for now. If anymore pop into my head I'll try to add an update... wink.gif

I love the first one...

And I got to demonstrate the secnd this weekend as you can see. What really bothers me is that the girl that was asking me only knows LZ because her ex-boyfriend is a Led Head

And we are very good friends ;)

Thanks for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed them.

Well, maybe now the girl will become a huge Zeppelin fan from this point forward, who knows... smile.gif

you quote a zeppelin song at least three times a day

your entire wardrobe is zep-related

you've been caught air guitaring to one of their songs at least once a day

when you get your ass kicked by someone who talks bad about zep (i'm sensitive okay!)

This is related with the "Charles Manson" comments (like "If I would find out that CM likes LZ, I would think that he's not such a bad guy after all")

Well, next week I'm gonna vote for president(in my obscure east-european country)the guy from the socialist party, because he mentioned Led Zep into an interview (talking how he played bass in his youth, in the '70). :bagoverhead: And,I have to add that his contra-candidate is so much worst...

Just thought I'd add to this list.

1) You watch the How The West Was Won every waking moment of the day.

2) Your only shirt is a Zepplein swan song shirt.

:)

Let's think of more! You know you're Zeppelin-obsessed when ...

... you won't convert concert bootlegs to MP3 even if they were very lo-fi recordings in the first place.

... you constantly think of how awesome a tour would be, and voice these thoughts to others.

... you name your computer and iPod after Led Zeppelin (Zoso and The Starship!).

... you were depressed because you couldn't get O2 tickets, but you watched all those YouTube videos on December 11th anyway.

... you laugh for a long time when your train passes the Edgewater going into Seattle.

... your music tastes share more in common with your teachers than other students.

... you give buskers more money if they play Zeppelin.

... you are already thinking of excuses to get out of work/school/life for a Zeppelin show.

... you know what "For Badgeholders Only" means (both meanings!).

... you know the birthdays of all four Zeppelin members.

These are all true for me. :D

Post more!

when in heartbreak, you listen to Tangerine and Thats The Way over...and over....

you watched Almost Famous only for the Zeppelin songs

you cant go to the beach without listening Down by the Seaside or The Ocean

you cant go to the mountains without listening to Misty Mountain Hop or Over the Hills and Far Away

you have a heart attack if you find a scratch on your cd

you cant go to the store without buying tangerines, lemons, or wanton soup

you buy L.E.D. lights simply because it spells out Led, or you go to the store and write Zeppelin after L.E.D. on a box.

you cant help but laugh when people say their lead broke

cant go into a bookstore without buying yet another Zeppelin book

when you see a Hyatt Hotel, you immediatly think of Zeppelin

buying a slide cause Jimmy used one, same thing with Les Paul, Marshall, Ludwig, Acoustic amps, etc..

buying a John Bonham replica drumset, even though you havent got a clue of how to play drums

buy a dog (Blue Eyed Merle) and name it Strider wink.gif

I have a small shrine in my room dedicated to them.

I've had dreams of jamming with them.

I Can't fall asleep at night inless I listen to stairway first.

I wake up everyday to Whole lotta Love.

I have over 20 Zeppelin ringtones on my phone.

I can't remember the last time I went a day without listening to them.

Closing my eyes, lying on my bed, and blasting Kashmir is a daily routine, one that which takes me off to my own exotic land of happyness.

Can't go a day without sharing my Zeppelin knowledge with others.

The longest book I've ever read cover-to-cover is "Whole lotta Zeppelin".

I have a zeppelin flag on my wall thats been torn apart and repaired several times that my dads friend gave to me(He's had it since the late 70's).(See picture below)

Anytime someone has a question about Zeppelin or an Arguement they come too me, even those who lived in the times of their touring.

I honestly belive if I right "ZoSo" on my hand it makes me play guitar better.

I had a cat named Zeppelin, A cat named Bonzo, and a Cat named Page.

My "Scene" card for the movie theaters name on it is "Jimmy Page"

People at my school nicknamed me Jimmy, because thats the fake name I give to substitutes, and because of my love for him.

My "Lucky guitar Pick" became lucky when I burnt it infront of an old Record of Led Zeppelin IV, well listening to Stairway and praying to Zeppelin.

All of this is true :)
