beatbo
i've had this on vinyl for many years. it bears some discussion here as there are some very cool things on it. first off, side 1 early sixties cuts (1963) when jimmy was 19. 2 groups from birmingham, pat wayne and the beachcombers and also carter-lewis and the southerners. my favorite is 'leave my kitten alone' by first gear, along with the primitives/'how do you feel'. side 2 has 'she just satisfies' with page on everything but drums (bobby graham). side 2 also has the yardbirds giving it a go at a dylan song 'most likely you'll go your way' (bbc sessions). the notes list the yardbirds doing 'i'm confused' but i've seen it said from a couple of sources that this is actually jake holmes. can anyone confirm this? swandown
It's definitely the Jake Holmes version. On my pressing at least.

I had a 2LP bootleg of that title about 30 years ago, and then I picked up a legitimate(?) single LP on a label called Archive International Productions. The version of "I'm Confused" doesn't sound like the Yardbirds to me either, so Jake Holmes seems likely.

swandown
according to the liner notes somehow this was santioned by the led zep fanclub.(?) very interesting release.... That "fanclub" was created solely for the purpose of that album. The president of AIP Records had a strategy of circumventing the record labels by getting permission from the original artist or the artist's "fan club". And if no official fan club could be found, they just made one up.
