BEST ZEP BOOTS

1969 27 April (American Beauty)

1969 1 January (Streets of San Francisco)

1969 5 January (Live at Whiskey A Go-Go) Not good sound quality by any stretch, but there's something about them ripping into songs like For Your Love that brings me back to it a lot.

1969 16 March (Stockholm) ...whether or not it was played there, it's a soundboard, and great otherwise, as well.

1970 March 7 (Intimidator)

1971 8 August (The Robert Plant Experience)

Complete BBC Sessions

These are the ones I listen to most, so they mayn't be my favourites after listening to another one I've not yet heard.

I am woefully unfamiliar with later bootlegs, and I've only got 5 after '73, so I'm clearly very biased years-wise. But, hey, only 458 to go!

This is a very good audience recording considering year and size of the venue.

I was talking more as a general statement, though, not for the year. If someone is looking for a good sound-quality bootleg, even from '69, I don't believe I'd be recommending that one. Maybe that's just me, though.

LA Forum 6/25/72

*the original soundboard before HTWWW*

How'd you get a hold of that ?

It's not hard to find on the internet. It's a good boot. The 27th from Long Beach was also used in HTWWW and it's a good one too.

There is no circulating soundboard of that gig.

Thanks for s-p-e-l-l-i-n-g it out for him.....

if there wasnt circulation of it, why would i have it then?

You don't. Trust me.

But i see you came to that conclusion also. You have a rather good audience recording, although not that good to confuse it with a soundboard. Although it sounds better then most 1977 soundboards. But i digress.... ;)

MY TOP 3: EARLS COURT 75

FINAL CUT KBEBWORTH 79

FLYING CIRCUS MSG NY 75

Bron-yuar rehersal <--- all acoustic

Zep IV Rehersal <--- has a super fast jazzier No Quater with different lyrics

Physical Graffiti Rehersal <--- This is by far the very best bootleg. Has a couple tunes never heard since=very short snippets as well as full songs while still in the creative process which were much different on the final cut on the album. In the light with slightly different lyrics. Kashmir with Bonzo using a double bass drum and the drums are synthasized. Few other things on it too, some talking. A discussion of Plant talking to someone else? they are comparing the Black Dog tune with a que on a tune they are working on.

Got these when I was young and stupid, so its ok.

How about this question:

If you were to give first priority to the quality of Plant's voice and second priority to the sound quality which are your favorite boots in this respect? Of course, the rest of the band needs to be having a good night as well.

unfortunately has many cuts. still pretty awesome.
