misty mountain
Why cant jimmy page.john paul jones and jason bonham call a band meeting (which includes Robert plant)and talk about any future as a band or what. Its that simple,if they all sit down and talk about musical directions etc and ask each other these simple questions then it would be as what should or should not happen. SteveAJones
Why cant jimmy page.john paul jones and jason bonham call a band meeting (which includes Robert plant)and talk about any future as a band or what. Page, Plant and Jones already met in January to discuss the year ahead and regardless of whatever was said then, Robert has since expressed he is keen to continue working with Alison Krauss beyond their current tour. 3hrsoflunacy
Yet another thread from you complaining about no Zep or no answers from the Zep camp. Nothing will be known until Plant finishes his commitments with Krause.
Cactus
Yeah, what makes you think this hasn't happened already? Page already said recently he's not going to try to convince anyone (read Robert) to continue with Zeppelin if he doesn't want to. It's not anyone's job to convince the others, either they all want to do it, or they won't.

This happens on a regular basis, and has for years (not including Jason, of course). Apart from anything else, there are business matters they need to periodically discuss. No, they are not saying different things. If Jimmy said 'yes we will tour' and Robert said "no I won't," then it would be saying different things. Jimmy and JPJ have both been positive about the O2 show and the possibilities of Zep in the future, Jason is obviously dead keen. Robert has not ruled any of that out. What he has said is that his is enjoying his current collaboration and has no other plans. Essentially what he is saying is - there is no Zep in his plans in the near future, but he has not ruled it out completely. And even if he did, it is not 100% reliable. He has said on numerous occasions in the past that he would never play with Zep again. But then the O2 happened. They will never, ever call a press conference or otherwise which says "Led Zeppelin is dead, we will never play together again". It's not how they operate. Perhaps the question was more referring to why having to start another one. Cause it keeps people like you giving your "old number of treads 'replies... since no one can give a straight answer to a simple question ,like all it takes is call a band meeting and return the loyalty to the fans of led zeppelin by saying "yes, we officially let our web site become an official web site because we believe in the future that we as led zeppelin will be producing new material and tour discussions are under way as from --------- as soon as Robert plant has finished his collaboration with Alison krauss .Or------ we'd like to inform the fans of led zeppelin that we have no future plans to perform as led zeppelin until further notice ......But feel free to continue buying our special re releases as they come on offer.cheers led zeppelin. .........Ain't that simple... Knebby
They probably want to run their careers according to their OWN standards and not yours. Pretty simple.
Cactus
Without knowing all of the individuals, it is impossible to judge why they havn't just 'got together and decided to make an announcement'. If the current status of Led Zeppelin, in the eyes of its members, is "lets wait and see", they can hardly make an announcement, can they? "We are not yet sure what is going to happen, but nothing is going to happen in the next 6 months, so just sit tight until then." It doesn't work that way. It would not put to rest anything - people would continue to speculate.
