Dancin'Days Posted July 28, 2008 Share Posted July 28, 2008 I went to see Kiss in San Diego Sports Arena with some friends and I was wearing light blue bellbottom cords (as one did back then) that were a little loose. Virginia Posted July 28, 2008 Share Posted July 28, 2008 The craziest thing I can think of, and it's really not all that crazy, is going to see the Dave Matthews Band with Neil Young while almost 9 months pregnant. I think I spent most of the concert in line for the porta johns I also drove 6 hours to see the Police; got lost, and missed the opening act (REM, on the cusp in '83! I'm still bummed about that). I also vaguely remember my friends and I dressing alike, with matching make up too, to see The Bangles and General Public. ally Posted July 28, 2008 Share Posted July 28, 2008 Tickets for the Stones concert in Vancouver 72 went on sale a month before the show. Five of us camped out at the old Empire Stadium for our chance to get 6 tickets each. As there were 4 ticket booths ( one at each corner of the stadium ) thousands of people were camped all around each. About 30 min. before the booths were to open, an announcement was made that only two of the booths would actually have tickets for sale and they would not say which ones. Pandamonium broke out. People running all over the place hoping to be at the correct booths. Fights broke out, and my friends and I got seperated. After doing the circut around the booths I could see one of them had people going through. I was too far behind to get my share so I climbed up on the roof of the booth and jumped down ( about 10 ft ) to the front of the line. Got my 6 tickets and ran like hell,as people were getting beat up for them. I later learned that the crowd had broken into the old stadium and were tearing up the turf and throwing bottles. Somehow my friends got they're tickets as well so it all turned out OK. Plenty of people did not get tickets and no doubt that was the cause of the riot that happened at the concert a month later Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
