Spats' Loveblahblahblah Thread

Here ya go....

Pet peeve: self absorbed people.

Amen. I would love to meet a woman who is actually modest and does not love to go on about herself. I meet a lot of women who only care about their own trials and tribulations and what's going on in your life does not matter. And then i have to pretend that i am interested in everything they are saying. I am not that good an actor.

My latest pet peeve is when things seem to come so much easier to other people than yourself. It's infuriating. You are strugglling and they are just sailing smoothly along.

Me and a couple buddies were down at harbourfront this weekend and there were these other guys there. They were your typical clean cut blonde good looking guys. Right up close i saw one girl walk up to one of them and say "my girlfriend thinks you are cute and she wanted me to ask you if she could have your cell phone number."'' Come on This never happens to me. This is what i want. I hope for this all the time and this guy gets it right in front of me. I thought i was gonna lose it right there. I looked at a buddy and as if if to say "how did that happen?" and he just shrugs his shoulders. he was told he was cute and a girl asked for his number all in one shot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That pretty much ruined my night. When we were at the movies that kept popping to my head.

I actually should have gone up to the guy and asked him what his secret was other than being him being good looking.

Tommy's Pet Peeve #530

Spats' love blahblahblah.. I am really tired of how everything comes back to being about his poor love live in some way shape or form. Once he realizes that constantly talking about it doesn't make people want to help him and his broken wing so much as run him the fuck over with a pickup truck, he may just start to understand. Theres a time and a place for it. Unfortunately, the time is not all the time, and the place is not the Pet Peeves thread (or the Post a Picture of Yourself thread, etc.) in the Led Zeppelin forum.

Post away, m'dear.

Maybe spats should read more of what he says and use those lines.

My little brother thinks pick up lines are the funniest things ever. I could check into what he has and give them to spats. My favourite from him is "Honey is your daddy in jail? Cause he stole the stars right out of the sky and put them in your eyes."

Oh come on people, stop feeding the monkey :D

He will believe he is special and famous and from a long line of deserving men.

All this has me distracted already, I was watching a film the other day and I could have sworn it was based on his ancestors when lots of guys kept shouting out

" I'm Spaticus"!!!

Spats by Robert William Service

When young I was a Socialist

Despite my tender years;

No blessed chance I ever missed

To slam the profiteers.

Yet though a fanatic I was,

And cursed aristocrats,

The Party chucked me out because

I sported Spats.

Aye, though on soap boxes I stood,

And spouted in the parks,

They grizzled that my foot-wear would

Be disavowed my Marx.

It's buttons of a pearly sheen

Bourgois they deemed and thus

They told me; 'You must choose between

Your spats and us.'

Alas! I loved my gaitered feet

Of smoothly fitting fawn;

They were so snappy and so neat,

A gift from Uncle John

Who had a fortune in the Bank

That one day might be mine:

'Give up my spats!' said I, 'I thank

You--but resign.'

Today when red or pink I see

In stripy pants of state,

I think of how they lost in me

A demon of debate.

I muse as leaders strut about

In frock-coats and high hats . . .

The bloody party chucked me out

Because of Spats.

Didn't that movie end with the hero left hanging, and some fat guy on a donkey cart riding off with the hot chick???

Brilliant thread! OK Spats, here's my first post for you:

Knowing Our Heart’s Desire

Feeling Jealous Jealousy is one of the toughest feelings we come up against in our lives. There is not much worse than this aching sense that somehow life has been unfair to us, while amply rewarding someone else. It’s even worse if that someone else is present in our daily lives, making it difficult for us to get the space we need to feel and heal our pain. We may be jealous of a sibling, a dear friend, or even famous personalities. We may even face the challenge of feeling jealous of our spouse, our child, or one of our parents. Whatever the case, we can normalize our experience by understanding that, as painful as it is, jealousy is a common human feeling.

Nevertheless, it is important that we not revel in our jealousy for too long, feeding it with inner talk or gossip with others. If we do, we run the risk of losing ourselves to its negative power. Jealousy has something good to offer us, though, and that is information about our own heart’s desire. When we are jealous of certain people, we want what they have, and if we are to be conscious, we must acknowledge that. In this way, we discover what we want for ourselves, which is the first step to getting it. It may be a certain kind of relationship or a career. Whatever it is, it is possible that we could create it for ourselves, in our own lives, if we are able to honor our own desires.

Of course, there are times when we cannot heal our jealousy in this way, and then the lesson may be about acceptance and the understanding that our path is different from the paths of those around us. It may be hard to see now, but perhaps it will eventually be clear why our life has taken its particular path. In the end, the best cure for jealousy is the recognition that the life we have is full of its own meaning and beauty, utterly unique to us—a gift that could never be found in the life of another.

And Del's advice is certainly worthy of consideration also....

I get sloppy and silly after one or two drinks. I have a low tolerance for it. I don't want to do anything embarrassing.

Another thing i wouldn't want to happen is to have a few drinks and then it starts clouding my judgement and i see a plain jane type girl and start thinking she is hot and then make i mistake i will regret. Some buddies of mine have done that. They have woken up with a girl that they thought was hot the night before only to discover that she wasn't the next morning.

HaHaHaHa!!!

Poor Spats, can't ever get lucky. My advise to him is what I have told other guys many times; If you don't have the looks, got no game, aren't rich, there is just one thing to do...

LOWER YOUR STANDARDS!

It works everytime.

:D

How low??? :o:o:o

I definately get the jealous feelings. Quite often. It was bad on the weekend because that dude got what i wanted and he didn't do anything to get it except look good. :o I can't stand those pretty boy guys who have women falling all over them.

It reminds me of when i was a teenager and some guy at school would end up dating a girl that i thought was hot. That happened quite of bit. I still experience that type of stuff.

That's what they call "Coyote Ugly" when you wake up the next morning next to someone and realize wtf did I do? and then realize that they are laying on your arm and you can't slip out of bed without waking them up so you gnaw your arm off like a coyote.

what's up with docron? he uses 'post pictures' as his personal pickup parlor!

(how 'bout that? 5 words beginning with the letter 'p' in 1 sentence!)

Gimme a break. The one girl I was commenting about is IMO hot. Why single me out anyways? Everyone else said she was hot too, I must just have done it better to have gotten noticed. Either way, it was one person, its not like I'm over there whore'n it up with every gal in town.

P.S., nice comment about getting a room though!

Alright - good talk teammate!

I don't think it would be possible for me to fall in love with one because the physical attraction would not be there. I am just saying that when you have a little too much to drink you don't always see things as they really are which could get you in trouble.

That's it. :D I thankfully have never experienced that. But some of my buddies have told me horror stories. I don't want to make that mistake.
