The band are already in the studio working on their debut album with producer Kevin Shirley. So far, none of the other musicians involved have been identified, although rumours have so far suggested that anyone from the following list might (or might not) be in the line-up: David Coverdale, Joe Bonamassa, Jason Bonham, Ken Hensley, Jordan Rudess… and Jimmy Page!" http://www.classicrockmagazine.com/news/hughes-new-supergroup-will-be-an-orgasm-for-the-mind/ Meg

SteveAJones
Series: Food tales of the rich and famous Going veggie with Robert Plant It wasn't easy grabbing a decent stew in Carnaby Street with the Led Zeppelin singer, says Caroline Boucher Caroline Boucher The Observer Sunday 20 June 2010 Oh lordy, but Robert Plant was good looking in the heyday of Led Zeppelin. And it fell to my good fortune to interview him an awful lot in those early days of the 70s. The band's office was at the mucky end of London's Oxford Street towards Tottenham Court Road the bit that now has tacky leather jacket and dodgy shoe shops (in those days it boasted a Dolphinarium. Imagine the cruelty).. It was cramped and unglamorous and had a terrifying lift in which I was once trapped with their very large and very unpredictable manager, Peter Grantso interviews were usually conducted in a nearby coffee bar. One day we decided to be healthy and headed off towards Carnaby Street and the fledgling health food restaurant, Cranks. It was pretty much the first of its kind in London and everything in it was heavy. Dense bread, muesli like a clay soil, thick vegetarian stews, lots of sprouted things and all served on thick brown crockery as hefty as flowerpots. We burped our way through the obligatory interview, Plant gorgeous with his curls and endless legs, and all other customers either too cool or too oblivious to bother him. We ate some carrot cake, drank coffee and then lurched out on to Carnaby Street. Almost immediately Plant spotted a shirt he wanted. Patterned voile in lilac, a bit see-through. Just the job for a gig. Plant flourished his chequebook to no avail. The rookie assistant, clearly not a fan, wanted ID. Very politely Plant went to the front of the shop, picked the new Zeppelin album off the rack and brought it to the till. No go. Cut no ice at all. Suddenly the shirt, the cake, the coffee all lost their lustre at once. We marched back to the office. http://www.guardian....lant-food-tales

SteveAJones
Hi, guys. I would love to know more about the context of Moonie joining Zep on stage in '77(I think). Was it spontaneous? Was it planned? Without any specific quotes from the band themselves it's difficult to know for certain. We can presume it was planned insofar as he was probably present for the entire show and probably agreed to do Plant's introduction of John Bonham prior to Moby Dick while Robert jokingly played the kit. "The best rock and roll drummer in the world ... living today! Mr John Bonham! With Buddy Rich's arms!" He goes on to say more but his swearing and yelling become inaudible. Moon of course then joined Bonham during his solo and again for the encore, Whole Lotta Love and Rock And Roll.

SteveAJones
Yes, I knew that clip. But I always wondered how did Moonie appeared on that stage: from the public? from the backstage? If you mean did he jump onstage from a seat in the audience none of the concert recollections I've seen shared over the years infer that he did. It seems he walked on from sidestage / backstage. dazedjeffy
Twelve Bar Interview w/ Larry Easter, original member of Linn County Band By Phillip Smith Interview date : May 27, 2010 Larry: We played in Detroit with {sic} Led Zeppelin. A funny thing happened at that show. Our bass player, Dino was playing this Hofner Bass like Paul McCartney played., and the neck breaks off, so he had to borrow the bass from Led Zeppelin. Our band manager who is still alive and a dear close friend, got it into his head to get us all these psychedelic clothing items to play this thing. And so we are playing on stage, and they’re shrinking. Phillip: Reminds me of George Costanza’s cotton baseball uniforms. Larry: You got this guy, Steve Miller, who is six foot four, and all the buttons had popped off everybody, and he was so mad. You can’t believe this, but it did go down. We played, and our clothes shrunk on us during that performance, and none of us wanted to wear that crap in the first place because we just wanted to wear jeans, and shirts.
