That JPJ is on keyboard for all of the famous songs: Kashmir, Stairway To Heaven, Since I've Been loving You etc.

He doesn't play keys on "Whole Lotta Love," "Immigrant Song," "Dazed and Confused," "Black Dog," "Achilles Last Stand," ... just kick-ass bass guitar!

Jones was a keyboardist before he was a bassist. You're Time is Gonna Come from the first album and onward. It was always there to a degree. He also orchestrated the strings for Kashmir, which was performed by an orchestra on the album track. The mellotron on the Rain Song. The Crunge, Friends, Thank You, For Your Life, All My Love, Carouselambra, his work on keyboards is evident on every Zeppelin album. And there are many more examples. Every Zeppelin album had keys courtesy of JPJ.

hey Ev, no disrespect, but on my Presence vinyl copy, there are no keyboards.

what i find really interesting tho is the orchestration of Kashmir, strings and horns. you can hear these in the original recording just a tiny bit, seems more like they were erased and subsituted by keyboards but still bleed thru to some speakers to another microphone / track. who were these musicians and why was it so much hidden in the mix when it was obviously a good performance ?

the pure rhythm track for that song with only guitar, drums & bass sounds already mighty mighty!

No disrespect taken my friend, you are correct. The part behind "Nothin I could doooo" in For Your Life is in fact a very compressed guitar. Good ear!!
