StridersWoman
By way of info: I'm a 43 year old fan who's been mad about Zep since I was a kid - but unfortunately they split on my 16th birthday so I never got to see them live! Closest I managed was a 1980's Box of Frogs concert at (I think) Hammersmith when Jimmy Page turned up and played The Song Remains the Same - I wept like a child! I hope this intro will explain that I consider myself a true fan! Out of curiosity I was trawling through Youtube last week and happened upon a Norwegian teenage tribute band called New Zeppelin. I tell you the hairs on the back of my neck stood up! They're only 13-15 years old and they can play like gods! I've heard many Zep tribute bands; some fair, some downright sad - but all lacking the passionate multi-layered music magic that is Led Zeppelin. But these guys are probably the closest to the real thing I have ever heard! I'm not a musician and have no technical ability here - but I can tell they've worked incredibly hard to copy something they clearly love - and I just love 'em for it! They put all the other tribute bands in the shade - and they're just a bunch of kids! I wouldn't dream of posting a link, but it's worth checking them out! When someone does such a brilliant job surely it's no insult to the original! The only thing off-key about this band is their name. And before I get a tirade back - OK the lead singer may fluff the occasional line and needs to grow his hair and loosen up a bit - do you remember being 15?! His voice is still spot on! Listen to the music they make - it's the music that's important!

Hi 'StridersWoman' Are you kidding, these kids really rock, at 15 these boys could really make it in music on their own if only they can write. The guitarist is what most people will be mad about, he has got Jimmy's guitar work off to a tee, "Evster" needs to comment on just how realistic they are. The singer has his own style, not Robert Plant's but so what, he has a voice that is strong and rocks. The drummer and bassist are very proficient and make up a good solid base for the two front men. Hey I ain't qualified to write a review so check them out for yourselves. I enjoyed them very much. Regards Danny
Swede
Good job. But I would find them much more interesting if they came up with some original material, they sure got the right influences and their sound is very good.

The guitarist is a natural and the rhythm section is very tight. The vocalist will not last unless he learns to use his voice better. Way too much straining to hit the notes. Even Plant learned, after awhile, to not try and hit the high ones when he knows it's not there. But overall, a good group, especially for their ages. I'd go and see them. *eviljane*
I have not heard many tribute bands for Zepp either, but I did like the group Kashmir that I saw at Rock the Lock in downtown Akron.
