TRB
The few times I was able to tune in to a bit of this during the weekend, I was flummoxed. No rhyme or reason is necessary, as you will see. Peruse at your peril.
pickenpieces
The few times I was able to tune in to a bit of this during the weekend, I was flummoxed. No rhyme or reason is necessary, as you will see. Peruse at your peril. There is a smattering of decent tunes for sure, but for the most part, its just a boring classic rock playlist of overplayed, unadventurous songs. So predictable. If you compare this to XMs Deep Tracks, this list doesnt even want to get its hair wet.
Jarlaxle 56
Some of them I haven't even heard of. And yes, pretty sad when you compare it to some really awesome JAZZ stations and Satellite radio stations. Although, I have to give one thing to that station. They may have picked all of the overplayed artists, but at least they played some slightly lesser played songs by them.
JethroTull
If you compare this to XMs Deep Tracks, this list doesnt even want to get its hair wet. Deep Tracks is currently my favorite XM station. I heard 1/2 hour of Humble Pie recently. Plus a bunch of artists I never listened to, but was always curious about (i.e. - U.K). Stargroves Tangie
This is probably the first Top Classic Rock Songs of All Time list that I've seen that didn'thave Stairway as the number 1. Here, it's only # 121 !
Medhb
This is my fave to put on when I'm at work, hook my headphones to my computer and choose my genre...it's pretty cool. You can make several music stations..NO commercials! http://www.pandora.com/
LedNoodle
rock 100.5 in Atlanta just did something similiar, although the songs were voted on by listeners. rock 100.5 plays classic rock, and i mean other stuff you don't always hear on classic rock radio, and newer stuff, from Pearl Jam, foo Fighters, JET, etc. Stairway to Heaven was numero uno, and Free Bird was 2nd. TRB
The station I linked to has been in flux for the past couple of years trying to find a direction. For many years it was strictly "classic rock," then following the demise of WHFS (DC/Baltimore people are familiar with the station) attempted to be all things to all rock people, changing its name and call letters and throwing the odd "green" tip in. That hasn't really been working out so well, with the music director recently having departed, and the station playlist being tweaked back towards classic rock. During this experimentation, the head of this site has described the station as a "whatever" rocker. I can't say I disagree. This "countdown," however, was just inane. As for Deep Tracks, I get a listen whenever I can when I'm at home (actual home) and turn on the XM off DirecTV; it's an interesting station.
