A Muslim extremist leader is threatening rock legend Paul McCartney with suicide bombers should the former Beatle proceed with plans to play his first-ever concert in Tel Aviv, Israel, Sept. 25, reported the Daily Express of London Sunday.

Following his weekly online broadcast from Lebanon that denounced McCartney for his gig, which is part of Israel's 60th anniversary celebration, Syrian-born Omar Bakri told the Sunday Express that "our enemy's friend is our enemy."

"Thus Paul McCartney is the enemy of every Muslim. We have what we call 'sacrifice' operatives who will not stand by while he joins in a celebration of their oppression," Bakri told the Sunday Express. "If he values his life Mr. McCartney must not come to Israel. He will not be safe there. The sacrifice operatives will be waiting for him."

McCartney, 65, appears to be undeterred by any objections to his appearance.

"I was approached by different groups and political bodies who asked me not to come here. I refused," McCartney told Israeli media Sunday, according to the Express. "I do what I think and I have many friends who support Israel."

sometimes I just gotta be me :)

I've got some really strong personal reasons why Macca shouldn't play there.

If the Muslims have been researching Beatles' history, and know anything

about the kind of grief the rabbis gave me when I was sent to Israel as a teen...

and know anything about the next 30 years of my life...

well, let's just say, it feels like a bit of support.

However, I don't like that "enemy" mindset.
