nirvana
Robert's decision was an absolute "no-brainer" on his part. He is an artist with integrity, one of the very few left amongst us. kdh
The Sun was doing what they do: make money. However, they, unlike any other publication or publicists, made Robert Plant step up to the plate and deny or confirm a wild rumor. He denied the rumor and confirmed our worst hopes: No Led Zeppelin tour.

He denied the rumor and confirmed our worst hopes: No Led Zeppelin tour. Lying by saying that he would tour, was wrong - even if it made him deny the story. It was sensationalist and irresponsible, and all at our expense. Their's is no glory or honor, Robert put it to rest and exposed The Sun as a gossip drool at best. slave to zep
i think they should be able to still make money, ie sell newspapers by sticking to facts. as for tabloid magazines, i NEVER buy them. they are nearly all full of half truths and pics that are meant to shock and therefore , make money. i dont get it. i dont want to read about stuff that isnt true. whats the point? there are many fictional books out there we can read to fulfill that need. newspapers should only print the NEWS. longdistancewinner
I don't read the paper. For which I'm thankful. I should like to apologise to all who believe I will be doing the Sun in. I sadly cannot act on my previous statement of 'doing them in'. Train fares are a bitch right now.

zeptangerine
If A=B and B=C then A=C... If The Sun published a bogus report about Robert's returning to Zep, then it's likely they published the same load of crap when they wrote Zeppelin were rehearsing and recording together. I had hope for a while there, but deep down I don't trust anything the British press runs unless it's in the BBC first. I've learned my lesson... I knew better Steve (please see my closed posts to that effect) but many others believed and I don't fault them...we all wanted some hope, in some way, even if from gutter sources like the Sun. Please don't rub it in right now o.k. Give some of us a moment to grieve.

Shankly
The Sun should be boycotted, but not just for the reasons you are using. No Led Zeppelin tour is certainly not a surprise or a disaster in my book. Very much looking forward to whatever Jimmy does next though.

Can't blame you for that. I know many people who went to the game, being from Nottingham, and it pretty much scarred them for life. It was horrific enough that they went through what they did - nevermind having some shit rag running its mouth and being completely disrespectful to the victims and their families. Makes you wonder how low people can go.

I'm a Liverpool supporter who has lived in Liverpool all of my life and we have suffered first hand because of the Sun's lies Read here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hillsborough_disaster to find out the story behind the Sun's lies. My sentiments exactly, i remember the Hillsborough disaster as though it was yesterday and the Suns remarks about it. Many people believed it and this did taint the way people thought of Football supporters in general. In my opinion it was a Police error to open too many closed gates that let in fans who had arrived late to enter through the centre section rather than be able to disperse slowly. This caused the crush that took so many lives needlessly. And just so the start of the football match was not held up, bravo the police, and it took years for then to admit that that is what actualy happened. Since then i have never brought another Newspaper, i only let the free ones in the house, and i wouldnt even put the Sun in the Jakes for Arsewipes. How the hell anyone with common sense or decientcy still buys Newspapers is beyond me, if we just stopped buying them for a year them they would all be out of business and have to sort themselves out, so its all our own fault in the first place for entertaining them.
