Best instrument stores across the globe?!

I live in Massachusetts so I get all my expensive equipment like amps, and guitars at Guitar Center, but I get cheaper stuff like strings, slides, rosin that sortta thing at one of two places Doug's Music World (because all that's worth buying there is cheap stuff that guitar center doesn't have) and occasionally Rick's Music World (used to own Doug's and both are local) Rick's is on/off with their selection when occasionaly they'll have name brand items like Gibson, or Fender although they always have not a large but good amp selection but their prices are through the roof, I don't think I've seen a single amp that wasn't in the thousands there.

haha cool, I havent been to the states recently so i dont know what they have in terms of buying Guitars over there, I haven been tempted to visit and have one shipped back. As taking htem on planes ruins them no? Although i have been to the guitar centre web site and they lok like a choice place to get stuff at. I can understand buying the smaller things else where i do the same with Steves locally because they're price on string and shit and a bit lower then the LNM near me, One year strings were $10.00 a pack , at steves they are like $6.00 a pack i know its not alot when buying then one pack at a time buy it adds up if you have more then one guitar to string contantly i hate playing on older strings lol Thanks for the info though, If im near ya il check it out for sure :P

Although Dano's around here are like $200 if you can find em, i wish i could get my hands on a nice one myself, i like the black on black withwhite pick gaurd.

Cosmo Music opened a new superstore not too long ago, and it's very impressive (I attended the opening). It's worth the extra bit of time to get there to check it out.

haha nice link, Richmond hill isnt so far from me, But it is a place i havent visited offen to lookf or music. Im glad theres alot more opening up within the GTA. ITs nice to meet the people that open these things as they are always such usefull people. I think i visited a cosmos before though not sure where but it seems like a great store non the less.

There are also walters music shopes here in toronto which have limited instruments but you can still find a deal in there if your lucky... They specialise more in pianos and band instruments though. Still worth taking a look at though.

Thanks for the link kudos!

cheers, Olipticle, if you can make your way to it I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. They've got separate rooms for different instruments (and a large selection of them, too), and the second floor has a piano show room and a theatre space where they have guest musicians, presentations, etc. They offer music lessons, and have very good supplies and knowledgeable staff, too. The best part though is that they're all very nice and super helpful. Steve's staff has often come across as a bit jaded, like they didn't want to spend the time unless you're the shit. All the people at Cosmo on the other hand take as much time as you need.

Have you ever been to The Twelfth Fret? (I don't remember if it's been listed before). Not cheap, high quality:

Enjoy!

lol thanks for the info, Im gonna have to agree with you that the staff at steves are a bit edgy. but i mean they are on one of the busiest streets in toronto and their walk in traffic is unbeliveable. although with the type of guitars they have selling they should realy have peole takg the time to present it well and to help the customer. For this reason alone is why i bought both my guitars at long a macquades here in toronto.

I havent been the to 12th fret as of yet but i have heard of it thanks for the link il check it out!

kudos

Here in Southern California there isn't a shortage of stores but I still do all of my purchasing from American Musical Supply. They have great prices, the best customer service and offer easy pay payments. If I want to see something in person I just wander down to the GC.

Sometimes i get lucky though and they let me play em ne ways:P y favorite was a $10,000 Cnd Jimi hendrix Flying V that he knew i wasnt gonna buy on the spot but he let me try it anyways :P haha kudos do that dude

It's awesome because they make the necks easier for girls to grip! They make it like smaller or something. However, I DONT APPROVE. I can play a regular guitar!
