TenYearsGone75
But they aren't. What about the Dinosaurs of Rock tours each summer ? What if we all never had computers to make this board possible ? Without "excess" technology, the human race would be a lot more intelligent. spatdrastik
Of course I'm the egotist! I blatantly stated it earlier; I have no secrets! And, by the way, I was also discussing great questions concerning the "what if's" of history until spats (which is what I will refer to him as- I have that right) decided to present something of a fifth grade level. Now, personally, I don't care very much. I was just in the mood to argue, and argue I did. You're perfectly correct; I picked the fight, dumb ass. So, next time you plan on reiterating my motives, save yourself the trouble of being redundant. K thanx It was 3rd grade level actually get your facts straight and I will refer to you as dumbass..I have that right

TenYearsGone75
How do you figure? We were smarter in the Middle Ages? I find that hard to believe.. Firstly, I would avoid making references to the Middle Ages; that was a period of hardly any intellectual contributions. Secondly, this is the reason why I put the word 'excess' in quotations. Of course, in many aspects, humans are more intelligent today than those of any other period of history; however, it depends on your definition of intelligence. If you're basing it off of the construction of computers that can compute formulas faster than any human mind, then yes- the future holds the greatest intellectual prowess. But, if you're referring to the art of rhetoric, the embodiment of oratory, cultural, social, political, and spiritual skills unmatched by today's rising apathy, then those artists of the past hold the key to intelligence. -TYG

But yes, culturally and spiritually, we were probably smarter a few hundred years ago. Politically? I dont know. I dont like the idea of having a king whos right to rule is by blood. Socially? Doubt it. Classes were as uneven as the ghetto and Beverly Hills But I get what you're sayin. We're heading off-course. But I wouldn't consider "excess" technology a bad thing.
