Lee
It's all still so fresh in my mind. A year on and i will be back in London for a few days. I wil be back at the 02 a year and a day later, the Kings of Leao await this time. Should be good but nothing or no band will compare to that day last year. And not forgetting the wonderful people I met up with that made it extra special I'll be back there too, a few days after you...seeing The Who at the Indigo next door, doing the queuing for tickets thing again! Enjoy! Lee

Riverside Bluesman
I clearly remember getting my email...... Having been ill for a week and not looked at my computer, I opened my emails at 11pm on the Thursday evening to discover my winning passcode notification. (Reaction: "Yes, yes, YES !!!). Only to read it to discover that the deadline to use the code had passed at 5pm that very day. (Reaction: "WHAT !!! OH BLOODY HELL !!!! NO !!!! NOOO !!!!! AAAARRRAAAGGHHH !!!). Anyway, shouting, stamping and so furious I could hardly breathe, I tried to use the code to get into the booking form and IT WORKED !!! Then more terror: "Where the HELL is my wallet ???" (Cue frantic scene where I tear around the house like a manic emptying drawers and shouting at the wife). Finally found the wallet behind the breadbin. Back to the computer, to start frantically filling in all the credit credit stuff as fast as I could, hammering on the keyboard and shouting at the screen to make the bloody thing work faster, completely expecting to be shut out at any point, and........IT ALL WORKED !!! (Reaction: THANK F*** !!!!!!). Head in hands, start to weep quietly and then collapse into twitching heap on the floor..... It all took about five minutes. But it felt much, much longer....... ledded1
Well the way the calender works, today was ticket collecting day (Sunday 9th & not the 7th as it is today). I met up with my ticket buddy Vince (who had flown in from Chicago) in central London then it was off to Docklands to meet up with Aquamarine and brspled who were meeting up with their ticket buddies. Then over to the 02 arena to join the throng. The excitement was palpable and the cheers as people got their writbands and tickets increased it. it was all pretty calm on the outside but you could see it in peoples face as they got closer to the ticket exchanges. pretty much everyone seemed to be having their photos taken with their tix and bands. Long but ordely queues but it seemed like an eternity. You could see people nervous as they got to the desks just in case their tickets werent there or there was aproblem. Vince and I were no different. So until you got the wrist band and ticket there was no relaxing and then the sheer joy and relief, well what can i say. So pics taken with tickets. Then it was off to join the merchandise queues for my shirts for me and one for my best mate who couldn't make it, that was his Xmas present from me. We all met up again as Aqua and brspled got theirs with no problems. Then it was off over to the Worlds End pub in Camden Town to meet up with Knebby and Walterswalk and others ( some I had met at a Strange Sensation show in Edinburgh a year or so before) to celebrate the coming major event. A great evening in great company with an even better one to come the next day Then the meeting up with others the following day to and it was an hello to Pilot of the Storm. But the day itself has even better memories for obvious reasons, but for me wht made the event even more special was the coming together of people from around the world for this single event. People meeting up for the first time, renewing friendships and making new friends and retaining those friendships. Its hard to think of another event that could have done it. I shall be in London again on the 10th and then at the 02 on the 11th for the Kings of Leon so it's close enough for an anniversary. A year gone so quicklyAn historic day for many of us whichever way you look at it.
