I was muckin' about on the MySpace page of folk(ish) singer Johnny Flynn and saw this intriguing news:

Tribute To Sandy Denny - 1st December

On 1st December, Johnny Flynn, plus a host of other musicians, will take to the stage at Queen Elizabeth Hall for a special tribute show to the late singer Sandy Denny. He will be performing a couple of cover versions in her honour.

Monday 1 December 2008, 7.30pm Queen Elizabeth Hall, London

In the 30 years since her death, Sandy Denny has emerged as one of the UK's greatest singer-songwriters. A unique line up of artists including former colleagues and young admirers re-interpret her songs in this very special tribute showcasing her work with Fairport Convention, Fotheringay and her solo career.

Yeah, this sounds amazing...and it's about a tribute was done for Sandy.

At this year's Cropredy, Fairport included a tribute to Sandy (it being the 30th anniversary of her death :o ) at which Robert sang Battle of Evermore with Kristina Donahue, daughter of a former band-member.

Which is not to say that Sandy doesn't deserve a full-scale tribute like this, she absolutely does. :yesnod:
