FireOpal Posted November 21, 2008 Share Posted November 21, 2008 I was muckin' about on the MySpace page of folk(ish) singer Johnny Flynn and saw this intriguing news: Tribute To Sandy Denny - 1st December On 1st December, Johnny Flynn, plus a host of other musicians, will take to the stage at Queen Elizabeth Hall for a special tribute show to the late singer Sandy Denny. He will be performing a couple of cover versions in her honour. Further details on the event are as follows. The Lady: A Tribute to Sandy Denny Monday 1 December 2008, 7.30pm Queen Elizabeth Hall, London In the 30 years since her death, Sandy Denny has emerged as one of the UK's greatest singer-songwriters. At this year's Cropredy, Fairport included a tribute to Sandy (it being the 30th anniversary of her death ) at which Robert sang Battle of Evermore with Kristina Donahue, daughter of a former band-member.
