ninelives
Robert didn't leave the band. The band disbanded in 1980 as a mutual decision between the remaining members. Robert saying he's chosen not to work with Jimmy and John Paul isn't leaving anything because there was nothing stated Zep reformed in the last year. Things change, people change. I'm happy we were blessed with their music. I'm hopeful we will continue to be blessed by their talent in whatever form it may take.
lzfan715
Robert left the band? I'm sorry, I didn't get that memo. I thought the split up after a mutual desicion. I know they reformed for one night as a charity concert. And that JPJ, Jimmy, and Jason are getting together. Not as Zeppelin though, so Robert didn't abandon the band since that isn't a Zeppelin gig.

Devil's Haircut
As technically off as Slater is, I understand what he/she means. The three J's would love to do a Led Zeppelin thing and Robert doesn't want to. He's seen as the one keeping it from happening. Some just need to put on their spectacles. pinky
I personally don't think I could ever leave someone who was that close to me for 12 years. I understand that they were no longer Led Zeppelin but just because a member of your band dies you can no longer play with anyone else from the band? I can understand why they broke up but I don't get why they had to end their relationship with each other. It's easier for Robert to walk away because just look at his solo career, he had GREAT sucsess as a solo artist. Jimmy was with The Firm in 85, toured for his only solo album in 88 and that was it for his non-Zep related career in the early 90's he toured with Coverdale mainly playing Led Zeppelin songs from 94-98 he toured and released an album with Robert mainly playing Zep songs, in 99-01 he toured with The Black Crowes playing Led Zeppelin songs and a few Black Crowes songs. Then as we all know the Led Zeppelin reunion in 07. Edited November 24, 2008 by pinky

~tangerine~
Breaking one of Rock Action's laws, I'm gonna say this thread is stupid. It's terribly incorrect That was my impression when i first saw this thread, too What i think Robert Plant is thinking every time this comes up is "been there, done that". Led Zeppelin were the best just like The Beatles. With a very unfortunate and tragic ending with the death of one of their beloved members, many years ago (close to 3 decades now) sadly Led Zeppelin would never be the same. I can't figure out why people try to blame stuff on Robert Plant????
wanna be drummer
Becuase people want a scapegoat, they can't just accept that shit happens on accident and for no reason sometimes. "You can't fix stupid" ~Ron White
eternal light
Great photo! Thanks for posting it. Gosh, the last time I saw those guys together was when I was with my boyfriend in the 1990s...and maybe that time, too. The clothes look familiar.
