Tina Turner at the Philadelphia Spectrum 11/29/08

A fantastic show which may be my last at the legendary Spectrum (it's being torn down next spring). For a 69 year old woman, Tina can still tear the house down. She was backed by awesome band which consisted of some gorgeous female dancers too. She really had fun with the crowd and got the women going. My only small complaint is that she had a lot of male dancers that would do little skits (like the Thunderdome from Mad Max III). As a guy, it was a little on the fruity side. Still, I had a blast. She did some great covers of the Stones and the Who.

1. Steamy Windows

2. Typical Male

3. River Deep, mountain high

4. What you get is what you see

5. Better be good to me>won't get fooled again

6. Acid queen

7. What's love got to do with it

8. Private dancer

9. We don't need another hero

10. Help!

11. Undercover agent for the blues

12. Let's stay together

13. I can't stand the rain

14. Jumpin' jack flash>it's only rock and roll

15. Goldeneye

16. Addicted to love

17. The Best

18. Proud mary

19. Nutbush city limits

20. Be tender with me, baby

6. Acid queen

I suspect MOST of the guys in attendance enjoyed the fruity aspect of the performance.

Acid Queen was Tina's contribution to Ken Russell's 1974/75 movie version of Tommy. I would say, that's the extent of her Who covers.

She did some "Won't Get Fooled Again." It wasn't the Who but it was still good.
