Zep w/o Robert?

Recommended Posts

This is true, and that is exactly what "he" will do. With Plant it seems to be, Me, Me, Me.

We get the point already, Steve!!! You've made the point and made it and made it!!! I'm personally sick of reading it and even if I agreed with you 100% (which I don't) I'd be sick of it!!

>>Steve51 thinks Plant is selfish, everybody!<<

OK? Point made, now??

I'm personally sick of it too. Besides being the most ridiculous thing to state (I'd like to know if HE lives his life based on what people want him to do because it's what THEY want), it's as though that's the only reason he comes here. To blame Robert for the downfall of his life

Oh dear, Zepagain's been taken...

Well. How about something that acknowledges the past, yet places it squarely in the present?

Mothership? ZepV.2and3/4? Newzep?

Maybe:

Led

Led Zeppelin: Unplanted

The band formerly known as Led Zeppelin

or if they went instrumental: Led Steamroller, they would certainly be a hit at Christmas.

IF HE DOESN'T WANT TO PLAY WITH THE OTHER MEMBERS OF THE BAND, HE IS NOT REQUIRED TO. GET OVER IT ALREADY.

Stop acting like you're being personally degraded because Robert Plant dares to have a life and a career outside of what he did 27 years ago. He doesn't have to play with them, and if he doesn't want to, he's not going to. And your whiny little ass just needs to accept that.

IF John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page & Jason Bonham went on tour with as yet unnamed 4th person, to play Led Zeppelin songs..... YES, I would go and see that concert.

I saw Page & Plant without Jason and JPJ, so that would not be that much a stretch.

JPJ is key to ANY "Led Zeppelin" show, besides Jimmy.

No one can sing like Robert ! He proved on Dec. 12th, that he had never "lost" his "Led Zeppelin" stuff... he has just chosen to not wheel that out, until then.

I relly don't know if anyone can approach Robert's "Zeppelin" abilites....

All is Unknown!!!

Like I said, he has played with Page and JPJ only three times in 27 years. If thats not selfish, what do you call it??

Personal choice. Get off this selfish crap will you? You're the selfish one and this repeated mantra is pointless. Why does he have to play with JP and JPJ? He's only allowed to do that?

You are the one whining because someone has a different point of view then yours. Playing with his old band mates only three times in 27 years. Would you stop whining about my opinion and answer my question.......what do you call it if this is not selfish?? And, must you curse??

I don't think he is selfish but for a tiny moment lets pretend he is. SO WHAT! If your whole life hinges on what Robert Plant does or doesnt do then you need some serious help. Life goes on buddy so get a move on and quit whining. Post something positive for a change.

It has nothing to do with having a different opinion. You want them to reunite. Fine. But what you say is how SELFISH Robert is because he's made other choices. THAT is not selfish. I dont' get why you can't comprehend that. It's his life to lead as he chooses. Why do you have a problem with the fact he is doing other things? YOU are selfish for wanting him to reunite because you want it regardless of how he feels.

There are many people who want the band to tour but they're not accusing Robert of being selfish if they don't. That's the difference you seem to miss.

Said curse free.

OK, fine. Im selfish too. Yes I enjoy Plant singing LZ and doing music with Page and the rest of the band much more then rockabilly, Ya La, etc., etc. If you all were honest you would admit that too. When you consider the millions and millions of fans that would rather hear the LZ style with Page, JPJ and now even a Bonham and he has only given it back three times in 27 years, what else can you call it other then selfish. Hey, Im happy for him, but the reason he is able to do exactly what he wants to do now is because all the LZ fans have put him where he is today. It wasn't because of the Honey Drippers or the Strange Sensations. Why do you all sell yourselves short? He is where he is today because fans like you and I liked and bought the LZ body of work in the first place.

He is where is is today because of talent, integrity, and foresight. I don't get the selfish angle at all.

If Paul McCartney toured next year with Ringo and called it the "Beatles"...now that would be selfish. Show some respect for those who have earned it.

STEVE51 THINKS ROBERT IS SELFISH!!!

NOW is the point made enough????

(It doesn't make any sense, it never made any sense that conducting your own career the way that makes artistic sense for you is selfish, but it's made! And it's made and it's made and . . . oh God, I can't stand it! It's just all too much! Life no longer has any meaning and :boohoo:

Sorry. Carry on.)

What part of ,"The LZ fans are who made Plant do you not understand"? Say after me, "Others can disagree with me and I will be all right". They may even disagree with me about Mr. Plant and the world will not end. Now take three deep breaths and try to stop screaming over your key board.

Robert Plant has been ready and willing to play the music of Led Zeppelin since 1988. Robert toured with Jimmy, so we know that he was willing to sing the music of Led Zeppelin in a Zeppish context.

The record shows that the last serious attempt to get all 3 together as a group occured in Bath England 1986. 2 sets of comments on this reunion have surfaced from RP.

One says he lost interest after drummer Tony Thompson's taxi cab accident, which he would have been involved with himself had he gotten in. It's been said the RP was "spooked" by the accident. The other is that he and Jimmy can quickly decide if they like an idea or not, and dispense of it if it's not working. Not so with Jonesy. I'm paraphrasing and apologize for not providing a reference.

I think there may be a superstition factor to consider. Have you noticed how RP seems to go out of his way to appear humble? A recent example would include the Nicks/Sixers interview. He goes so far as to define "A song called Kashmir" as if we don't all know. I'm going to go out on a limb here and surmise that perhaps he believes he pays the price for the sin of pride, i.e his voice, his physicality, his son, his best friend.

If he was just plain sick of the material fans and lifestyle, he wouldn't have spent 4 years touring with Jimmy. Just venturing a guess. I'm not seeing the selfish angle.

Er, Steve? You're the one who is going on and on and on about this, every single post--I'm not even disagreeing with you, I'm just so sick of hearing it and hearing it I'm going mad. MAD, I TELL YOU!!!!!

But since you invite me to tell you what I don't understand--I don't understand why it's not obvious that only Robert Plant "made" Plant. Only him, and his astonishing talent. If he hadn't been such an amazing singer, you wouldn't have anything to obsess about. He thus gets to decide what he does with his own career, just like you do with yours.

But again--the problem is not whether I or others disagree with you. We all disagree on all sorts of things. But we don't go on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on about the same damn thing!!

Er, Steve, again? The reason I'm screaming over my keyboard is to make your point for you, AGAIN!!! It's made, already!!!! Stop making it!!!

Sooooo, none of what Plant did made you a LZ fan?

Listen Steve, this is my selfish perspective. This band SOLD me on their talent. They have given me decades of listening pleasure. They got me through my teens and beyond. My money means jack shit because it was an investment that was important to ME. I'm very selfish that way. If i chose to invest my money in somebody else, BFD! Millions of others were more than willing, which makes me irrelevent.

My side of the coin say's that Plant is deserved respect for keeping his artitstic integrity intact. He is his own man, he has done all he can for our pleasure....i fully respect his individualism.

My advise to you is to boycott the product. That's what i would do if i was you. Don't buy, don't listen, don't discuss the issue at all. It would not be selfish of you to do so as it would compromise your integrity if you didn't. You believe that Plant is "selfish", so be it. Jimmy and JPJ are also selfish for not agreeing and going forward as LZ with a new singer....right?

Drop them and get on with your life.

I can't take your crap anymore either. Do you just get off being an ass? I may have discovered Robert through Zep and yes, I still love the band to pieces, but I also accepted as of December, 1980 that they were no longer a band. I love what Robert has done since then and I think it's great he's not played it safe with his career and grown as a singer and songwriter. I don't sit here waiting for it to happen. If it does, great but I'm not about living in the past. Robert's success comes from being an unbelievable artist.

Stop already. Just bloody stop because it's clear you have no interest in anything except accusing Robert of denying you something and how he's crap without Zep :blahblah::blahblah:

I am amazed how you all get your blood pressure up over a different opinion. Right or wrong, thats all it is.............my opinion. You can go back through my posts, no cursing and no putting anyone else down for their posted opinion. I can enjoy LZ and have any opinion that I want to about Plant. You do not even have to respond. I think that I will go listen to Ya La now.

I call it a grown man doing what a grown man wants to do. If you don't like it, get over it. And yes, I must curse. I'm a grown woman, and if you don't like grown adults using adult language, fuck off back to the Disney website.

Hey, context is king eh?

Would you ever have pronounced Lead Zeppelin as LEED as a title and not part of a sentence. besides leading zeppeling sounds more appropriate.

anyhow, you are aware that when you change the spelling of a word, you change it's composition in more ways than one, yes? That's what spelling is all about.

I give you an example that contains within it an energy lesson. Canadians, Brits, and Aussies (as far as I know), use the letter U in many words where the US doesn't. I think it's rather reflective, don't you?

there are worse things in the world...here's an image of what bobby kimball (of toto) would've looked like as led zep's singer - not...scroll to the end..
