Love Scott Morgan's soulful voice. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpiTSIrVHYs Don't know if this was a hit nationally, but it was locally. Swede
Here's a few blasts from the past. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=LgA6FiqzVmg Strawberry Alarm Clock was cool. I am a member of guitarist Ed King's (the guy with the red strat in that clip) Forum. He's also one of the the three original guitarists of Lynyrd Skynyrd. http://edking.net/ http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=clux1gLimUo I thought Paul Rever & The Raiders wrote that song. They had a hit with it too. Indian Reservation - Paul Revere & The Raiders

Love Scott Morgan's soulful voice. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpiTSIrVHYs Scott Morgan is great, indeed. The Rationals album is cool. I love the shit he did with Sonic Smith and the new soul project, The Solution, which he did with Nicke Andersson of The Hellacopters too. I bet they would have gone somewhere if they would have just changed their name! You know.....like to the Rolling Stones maybe. LOL, yes, "? & The Mysterians" isn't very commersial I guess.. Swede
I always loved Garland Jefferys' version of 96 Tears as well: Pretty good, though very 80's sounding. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=tWPzVhW9mcQ&...feature=related Tommy Roe had a hit with Sheila too. (can't find the original version from 1962, so here's an earlier more rare version) Sheila

Jahfin
Good one. Did they have any other singles released - even ones that didn't really make a splash? Yes, they did. One called The Love Parade. I didn't realize until reading their AllMusic bio right now that Life In A Northern Town was an elegy for Nick Drake. http://allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&s...gifexqe5ldhe~T1
Jahfin
I don't know who did that version - it's awful though and that commercial It's by Player. What's scary is that I didn't even have to look that up, probably because it's etched in my memory from when it first came out. To make it even worse there's a second commercial that uses a Mexican version of the same song.
Melanie_72
Another good one. Sugarland featuring Little Big Town and Jake Owen did a country remake of this last year. I thought it was pretty good. The original reminds me of when I was in the 8th grade. Some fun memories.

I like Nick Drake - discovered him thanks to a Volkswagon commercial, though it took me the longest time to figure out who it was. I think when some of his songs appeared on the soundtrack to the movie Serendipity, I figured it out. It's by Player. What's scary is that I didn't even have to look that up, probably because it's etched in my memory from when it first came out. To make it even worse there's a second commercial that uses a Mexican version of the same song. The Mexican version is truly awful. I cringe when either one is on!
