LukeTheDuke
The only song I can consider in a certain way "metal" is The Wanton Song. By the way "Led Zeppelin is a genre out there on their own" (I agree!)
yahyoubetcha
When Zep was in their heyday (70s) the were considered a Heavy Metal band. Same as Deep Purple, Uriah Heep and yes, Sabbath. The meaning of the term Heavy Metal changed over the years, leaving Zep and like bands to now be considered 'hard rock' or 'blues rock' or whatever other genre the media likes to pigeonhole them in. But before there was Juda Priest and Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin was Heavy Metal.
docron
Why get caught up in genres? It's all bullsh1t. A genre is nothing but a thing used by the bulk of society (who is grossly misinformed about music) to group music into categories... something that just can't be done. Every group or artist who is worth anything creates their own genre.
