ALICE COOPER

I first saw Alice Cooper back in 1972. It was one of the BEST concerts I have ever seen by anyone, anytime ! I have seen Alice Cooper several times since then over the years.... But NO concert since that 1972 show, comes close. He and his band were touring on their KILLER album at the time. It was consumate performance by all. The snake, the guillotine, the song and dance ... Alice was the master showman ... he the audience eating of of the palm of his hand that night. I saw something very very special that evening. That show is in the Top 5 of all concerts I have ever seen, including the Zeppelin shows.

GREAT NEWS ! ! ! ! ! !

It has just been revealed that AUDIO FIDELITY's next Alice Cooper work to get the 24K audiophile treatment, will be nono other than KILLER ! I can't wait ! !

Alice Cooper(the band) were great and 'Killer' is one hell of an album,'Halo Of Flies' is my favourite track on the thing but 'Desperado','Under My Wheels' and 'You Drive Me Nervous' run it close.I'm also a big fan of 'Schools Out' and 'Love It To Death',both cracking albums that were part of the soundtrack to my youth. That band were really underrated.

I have pre-ordered my KILLER CD with Audio Fidelity.

They said it was due out in June.

That seems like such along time !

I might could have got the CD cheaper by ordering through a discount house... but I love this relase so, that I didn't want to wait any longer than necessary !

Alice is awesome. I've seen him about ten times now. Atlantic City and Verona, NY this past year. He always puts on an awesome show. There was only once where I didn't really think it was that great.

Now he's got a killer guitarist. He did like a spanish guitar solo which was frigging awesome. Like a damned bandido or something.

they also have the coolest drum solo where the drummer solos and the two guitar players put their guitars down and go up to the drums and there are drums facing each of them also and they do like a dueling drumming thing between the guitar players and the drummer. Very very cool. Have never seen that anywhere before.

He also played the ballad of dwight fry this tour...

Speaking of.... I was listening to his radio show "Nights with Alice Cooper" for the first time yesterday. I always knew he had a great sense of humor from watching TV interviews over the years, but this was something else. I laughed non-stop. Loved it!

How's it going "The Rover?" I am very familiar with Audio Fidelity CD's as well as DCC and Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (MFSL). I have managed to collect many 24 KT Gold CD's by all three of these manufacturers and I love all of them. Although, I will give a very big edge to MFSL since I truly believe that they are the best in sound quality. We'll have to chat one of these days real soon about 24 KT Gold CD's. ROCK ON!

Alice Cooper Lifts The Curtain

On 'Theatre Of Death' Tour

by Gary Graff, Detroit

With a revamped set list and four onstage "deaths," Alice Cooper is shaking things up a bit with his just-launched Theatre of Death North American tour.

"It's Alice all the way, but the formula is totally upside down and backwards," the veteran shock-rocker tells Billboard.com. "It's a celebration of Alice stuff. There's no moral to it. It really is just sort of a celebration of different phases of Alice."

Cooper credits Robert Jess Roth, who directed the original stage production of Walt Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" and is a big Cooper fan, with the Theatre of Death concept. "He said, 'I want your lyrics to tell the story,' " recalls Cooper, who had to write a new verse for "Devil's Food" to accommodate Roth's script. "He said, 'I want to tell four stories -- the delinquent Alice, Alice in hell, four different acts. And at the end of each act we kill you; we kill that Alice and introduce the next Alice.'

"He showed me the set list and the ideas and we started talking about what deaths would be good, this and that, and the show just stared forming. All of a sudden we had this elaborate show, new lights and props and costumes and everything, and I really liked it.

I got an email from AliceCooper.com yesterday for my ticket to see him on the 30th, thanks to the pre-sale I have a seat in the third row. Still haven't been able to find out who's opening but I'm looking very forward to my first Alice show ever.

I've read that his voice has held up quite well, if he plays in L.A. I might go see him and would also be my first time seeing him.

How's it going "The Rover?" I hope all is well with you. I know that I commented once here on your thread but it was about the Audio Fidelity and MFSL 24 KT Gold CD's. Now, its time for me to comment on ALICE COOPER.

I am a big ALICE COOPER fan, I actually like the songs "You And Me," "I'm Eighteen," "School's Out," "No More Mr. Nice Guy" and "Billion Dollar Babies" to name just a few. ALICE COOPER has really entertained the whole world with his horrific threatrics for many decades and still continues to blow people's minds to this very day. Rock n' Roll has been very blessed in having a great entertainer like ALICE COOPER, he and BLACK SABBATH truly knew how to put the horror into Rock n' Roll indeed! LONG LIVE ALICE COOPER! Have a great day and ROCK ON!

man, i can't believe i missed this thread.

i saw Alice for the first time in early 1970 when i was a wee lad of 14.

it was at a small venue called the the Birmingham (MI) Palladium. they had just released the "Love it to Death" LP w/Eighteen as the single and at the time, i had never seen guys with such long hair. it was almost down to their bums and they were all very tall and extrememly skinny, almost anorexic and wore matching silver space suits. but dayum' could they rock. they started their set with a song called "Sunrise" as i was hypnotized for the entire show.

i saw them several times after that and enjoyed all of the shows, but that first one was truly special and will stick in my memory forever.

I just saw Alice on Monday night(Front row in Verona, NY) and Friday night in Atlantic City, House of Blues.

Awesome show. In ways unlike any other Alice concert, but in ways, just like all others.

He is metal, crazy, outrageous, absolutely nuts and insane all at the same time. It's Alice Cooper!!!

Like the previous review in this thread says they killed him everywhich way. How much fun!

Once again, I got as lucky as can be. Monday was at the turning stone resort and casino in Verona, NY. Front row, recorded it all on my i-phone but the sound doesn't come out. Between my friend and I we have over 100 pix. I was right in front of the bass and rhythm/lead guitar. After the show we met the bass and lead guitarist in the bar and got to tell them that the show was awesome. The next morning we were getting in the elevator and we were talking about the show. There was a cool looking dude in the elevator and we asked him if he saw the show last night. He then tells us that he's in the band. I took a doubletake and it was the lead guitarist on his way to the fitness center to work out. How cool. The show was unique in several ways. It started and ended with the same song. School's Out. when he sang Goes to Hell he said everytime I should go to hell instead of you should go to hell. He did many times in one night.

Last night was Atlantic City, House of Blues. Around noon I snuck in my camcorder to record the show. I know - shame on me, but couldn't resist. Pretty much the same show as monday. same songs. order, etc. Seemed to flow easier and the crowd was more rocking in a/c. After the show i went over to a door which goes to the back of the stagge area. It was unlocked so I went in and walked around. One big room with equipment all over the place and another room with tables and chairs set up. I went in the farthest room with the tables and chairs and all of a sudden I hear voices coming. I stepped behind the curtain and hid. In comes about a dozen people, security, concert promotor and they do a meet and greet right there with me behind the curtain. How embarrassing if I got caught, but I didn't. Then after twenty minutes they all cleared out. Then about another twenty-five people come in and line up for another meet and greet.I stepped from behind the curtain and jumped in line and got to do the meet and greet for free. It was cool. I told him it was my sixteenth Alice show and that my first was Constrictor tour in 1986 in Albany. He mentioned his guitar player at the time who came from my hometown. Kane Roberts. I got my pix taken and away I went. When I left I went to my car and through the valet area. When I did their tour bus was there. I stood outside of it with another couple and one by one the whole band came out, got to meet them and they all signed my first row ticket from Monday night, including Alice who signed it at the meet and greet. What a killer time. Met the entire band and Alice.f Front row monday, all over the place on Friday and video which i'm recording onto DVD now.

Gotta love Alice!!!!

B) ^ you gonna post some pics?!

I Love Alice Cooper. Like some of the other geezers here I saw them twice in the early 70's. He is great. Have you read his book? Very open about his alchohol abuse.

He still makes me feel like a rebel teenager every time I hear Eighteen or School's Out!

I'd love to see him again. Lucky. ;)

A W E S O M E !

Although I have never got to have a "One-on-One" with Alice -- yet, in 1972 (or was it 1973 ? ?), just before the band's performance in Dallas, I was standing at the halfway point on the ramp that overlooks the corridor between the dressing rooms and the entrance to the backstage area. All of the band members had left the dressing room to go to the stage, excepting Alice.

Then, out strolls Alice, all by his lonesome. I yelled out to him: "Hey Alice !"

He looked up toward me, and with the beer he held in his hand, Alice saluted me.

Then Alice walked across the corridor to the stage.
