docron
The 60's. You simply cannot argue this. Europe: Cream The Jimi Hendrix Experience (I know Jimi was from Seattle, but he got big in Europe first) The Who The Beatles Yardbirds/Early Zeppelin Pretty much anything else that came from the U.K. in the mid-60's America: Bob Dylan The Doors Any American blues man The Newport Jazz Festival The Monterey Pop Festival Woodstock "Summer of Love" Haight and Ashbury East Coast Garage Rock West Coast Psychedelia The list goes on.. but that should be everything you need right there. Mona
I think that each decade has had it's share of good and bad music. To me it's kind of silly to say that one decade is better than another because it's all a matter of preference.
The Rover
The 70s. You start off with the soft rock/singer-songwriter era (Bread, The Carpenters, Carly Simon, James Taylor, Carole King), move through to the harder rock era (Stones, Who, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin) and then end with disco, punk and the beginning of New Wave. That's a lot of diversity for a 10 year period. The 70's . . . That's a lot perversity for a 10 year period.

Well you could argue it because not everyone is going to feel that way It's a matter of personal preference really.
Melanie_72
My favorite is the 80's BUT, the 70's is VERY close behind. I also love the 60's too. To me, nothing beats old school!

Rock Action
Mid- 60's through early 70's here, overall. After about 1971-2 I couldn't listen to AM radio anymore. Dreadful.
Big Blue
For me it's always going to be the 50's Chicago in the 50's to be precise. It's the old 'if you could go back to one period from the past' question. I'd go back to the Chess Studios from 1950. Hey . . . it's my fantasy right, maybe, having been a drummer for 20 years I could wind up playing with Muddy or the Wolf. In actuality I'd wind uo getting my twat kicked in by Little Walter & Big Crawford. C'est le vie
