ms_zeppelin94
Ok- I thought it would be nice to have a thread with no topic, a place to chill out. This is for random things involving/related to Zeppelin that won't fit in another thread. Anything- daydreaming, rhetorical questions, observations, anecdotes, just plain random-ness. So have fun, but please use the search button before posting here to be sure that your post doesn't belong in another thread. Enjoy!!
SuperDave
Who drives Jimmy around since he doesn't drive or does he call a taxi?
ninelives
Who drives Jimmy around since he doesn't drive or does he call a taxi? I would assume he probably has a driver but I really haven't a clue.
SuperDave
I would assume he probably has a driver but I really haven't a clue. I wasn't really being serious about it, but just threw something at random. The taxi comment was a joke. Just waiting for someone to make that original comment...who's driving...? Might not be a bad idea for a thread as long as it doesn't turn into another one of those will they or won't they or blame Robert threads. It's also a way not to derail a thread. It might be related to something, but is sort of random, like below. My favorite Elvis covers by Led Zeppelin live are: (You're So Square), Baby I Don't Care-Hamburg, 1973 and Heartbreak Hotel-Los Angeles, 1972. Oh, how I wish Jimmy had included the latter as part of the WLL medley on HTWWW. Probably couldn't secure the rights to it as well as Slowdown. And while I'm here I also wish Louie,Louie and Thank You were also included from that show. Here's hoping for a complete version some day. There's plenty of room on the 40 minute 3rd cd. Aquamarine
Sorry to be picky, but is it possible to correct the title of this thread?--'cos I know it's going to drive me insane if I see it misspelled every day! I should contribute something instead of just griping, so--I wonder if Jimmy belongs to the Hair Club for Men? Because he seems to have gained a lot of hair in the last couple of years! He looks great these days, anyway. Oh, and my feelings about Robert's Louie Louie on the Wayne's World soundtrack are .

SuperDave
Oops sorry Louie Louie would have been great to hear! What do you think of Robert's version from the Wayne's World soundtrack? I think that version is just ok. Now the Zep version from the Forum is fantastic along with JPJ's Everyday People as part of the organ solo lead in to Thank You. I think that's one of their best versions of TY.

SuperDave
Funny you mention organ solo - I was just listening to that from the Blueberry Hill recording. Really fantastic! Now, that version of Thank You is probably my favorite. Jimmy's solo is just amazing. Also the BBC 1971 Paris Theatre version isn't too shabby as is the Three Days after also from the Forum on June 3, 1973.

ms_zeppelin94
Well- since we got going on covers, what about This one? BTW-I'm sorry that my spelling sucks. When will they start teaching how to spell words that we may actually use? Here's my random contribution: I think Immigrant Song was inspired by that night that Robert stubbed his toe on Jimmys amp Seriuosly-next time you stub your toe see if you don't feel like screaming like that.
