Hey kelch, I love that picture. I think it's really symbolic in the sense that he was able to explore all that is possible sounds with his instrument so thoroughly with such a simple setup. He used technique and dynamics to get different sounds as opposed to having 1,000,000 drums (cough neil peart).
Here are two I wanted to share.
He looks like a total badass in this picture with the smoke passing out of his nostrils. The shaggy hair, the moustache, the cowboy shirt look badass as well.
