Figure on Led Zeppelin IV cover identified as Victorian Wiltshire thatcher
Fifty-year mystery solved as research suggests picture shows Lot Long, a widower from Mere

For Led Zeppelin fans it is an instantly recognisable image: that of a grey-bearded figure stooping, his leathery hands grasping the pole supporting a bundle of hazel on his back.

Becoming Led Zeppelin documentary & American Epic (Quick Update)
AMERICAN EPIC:  The filmmakers behind Becoming Led Zeppelin have announced the Japanese premiere of their American Epic series of films at the Peter Barakan Music Film Festival in Tokyo this weekend. If anyone will be in the area, I would recommend going, as not only are these films a fantastic journey, but they’ll also give you a great idea of the quality you can look forward to when they finish post production on Becoming Led Zeppelin.

For more info in Japanese: https://pbmff.jp
For more info in English: https://pbmff.jp/english.html

A Quick Update:

Regarding 'Becoming Led Zeppelin', I understand they are nearing the end of the edit and have been taking advantage of the time to make the film as good as possible. I have seen the film in several stages and think it is an extraordinary piece of work that I hope we all get to share in soon.

As the filmmakers have told me, they’ll continue to be on the search for unseen archive from the period the film covers all the way until the film is released, so if anyone has anything they would like to send their way, please reach out to me. A few new gems have been added since its public screening last year.

Hoodie girl from The Song Remains the Same film
So I was feeling nostalgic and google  the concert and this forum came up on my search. Remembered that 49 years ago I was at the MSG concert sitting a couple rows back . Watching and enjoying RP...and years later found out that I'm in the video. I'm the girl in the white hoodie. The reason I was smiling and laughing was because he pointed and signal to come up closer to the stage.

Jimmy Page - The Anthology Book - by Genesis
https://www.genesis-publications.com/book/9781905662593/jimmy-page-the-anthology

Jimmy Page tells the stories of the instruments that have long been mythicized in rock and roll history, such as his 'Dragon' Telecaster and 'Number One' Gibson Les Paul.

The Anthology documents Page's remarkable musical journey from listening to blues records with childhood friend Jeff Back, to performing on TV in a Skiffle band; from his colossal body of session work in the Sixties, through to the Yardbirds and Led Zeppelin, and on to bands such as The Firm, Coverdale & Page and Page & Plant.

The draft pages presented above (subject to change) show how each item is carefully selected from Jimmy Page's collection and is supplemented by anecdotes from the author himself.

Hundreds of items from Jimmy Page's private collection have been personally selected for inclusion. From iconic guitars and stage costumes, to rare posters and vinyl pressings; and from correspondence and diary entries to unseen photographs. Every piece has been photographed and brought to life with exclusive new text provided by Jimmy Page, placing it within the story of his phenomenal career.

Leather collection not included.

CARNEGIE HALL, NY 10-17-69 - Never Before Seen Fan Photos! First use of Black Beauty Les Paul
Here are some never-before-seen fan photos from Led Zeppelin's legendary Carnegie Hall (October 17, 1969) appearance. A group of 15 year-old fans captured their experience at the 8:30pm (early show) from the 10th row. They describe a lack of security, except for Carnegie Hall ushers and were free to venture up to the front of the stage for a few pics as well.

Amazingly, these photos also reveal Jimmy Page's first photographed live use of his Black Beauty Les Paul during Led Zeppelin and confirms it was brought to North America for this fall 1969 tour.

To Be Reissued With New Remastering Supervised By Jimmy Page

Including The Album’s Debut Release On Vinyl And Blu-ray Audio,
Along With Super Deluxe Boxed Set, CD, And Digital Versions

On September 7, 1968, John Bonham, John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page, and Robert Plant first took the stage together in Gladsaxe, Denmark. Then billed as “The New Yardbirds,” the band would assemble in the studio for the first time later that month to start recording their debut album as Led Zeppelin, and rock ‘n’ roll would never be the same again. Before the band’s 50th Anniversary celebration officially begins in September, Led Zeppelin will continue their reissue campaign with a new edition of their celebrated live album HOW THE WEST WAS WON, originally released in 2003, featuring newly remastered audio, which was done under the supervision of Jimmy Page. Details of additional Led Zeppelin 50th Anniversary releases and events will be announced later this year.

HOW THE WEST WAS WON will be released on March 23 in multiple formats from Atlantic/Swan Song, including the first ever vinyl and Blu-ray Audio editions (with the Blu-ray containing hi-res 5.1 surround sound).
