I always thought Misty Mountain Hop stood out.

He must be out of his mind! He's worst than rich American slobs who build McMansion's in quiet three bedroom communities.

Really? Slobs? You have no idea what you're talking about.

What was the real reason Robert split with Phil Johnstone?
-
I think he cared a little for her so she wasn't just a groupie to pass around. Also, he has an ego...he wants her to only want him.
-
A guy doesn't want his buddy screwing the girl he is screwing...it's weird.

Could be Mike Bordin, sorry bad with names. Many Zep books nowadays mention that Robert pulled out of a Zep
World tour(not with Jason) literally at the last minutr in 90' or 91'. Much of the details of the tour supposedly were
already done, Robert agreed at first. Probably would have gone very well, Jimmy was in excellent playing shape.
In the end however it was IMO the right move, Robert didn't want the legacy tarnished. P/P in 95' couldn't really
be called a reunion because no Jonesy and the vast reworkings of ? 10-12 Zep songs. Robert grew wary in 98'
despite Page's spectacular return to amazing playing. Robert saw that the set list kept dropping WIC songs, and the
show was becoming basically Zep without Jonesy or Bonzo. So he quit with some tour dates remaining. Don't blame him.
Source of the almost touring in 91 comment?

His son doesn't have the same talent as the father.
I never said he did but he does a more than adequate job, in fact, he did really well. He's gotten better over the years. It's more that it is Bonzos son. Period. If you don't understand that than you must not have children.

100% the right decision. Classy move. After the 02 show they should have reformed for a bit with Jason. His son is the right person, the only person, to take his Dads spot.

John Paul Jones at 13:00 of the clip below..."We knew immediately that was the end of Zeppelin..."
Who was the interviewer on this video?

Hasn't Robert stated that he thought Zeppelin had become dinosaurs around the time of Graffiti/Presence? Seems he was probably struggling his last few years with the band. I bet he probably enjoyed making In Through the Out Door . It points to his solo career.
I have never heard him say that in fact he said physical graffiti was their best work.

Anyone have insight on what each member did after the show? Did they all attend an after party? What was the mood?

Grant discusses it in his autobiography Peter Grant: The Man Who Led Zeppelin. IIRC, it was circa 1976 and merely an inquiry on the possibility of doing so.
Is it an autobiography or biography? Did he write it or provide the information to the writer?

I've read a few times that Col Tom Parker wanted Peter Grant to manage a UK tour of Elvis. Did Col Parker really ask Grant this and what was Grant's response?
-
I can't believe they all were going on tour in 1980 with Jimmy in the shape he was in. He was in bad shape in 77 also and the shows were...less than killer? I thought that was the consensus.
-
If this has been posted before I am sorry but I did not see it. Wasn't there a lawsuit between Zeppelin and Grant over royalties at some point in the 80s or 90s?

I've always wondered by RP kept slagging JPJ thru the 80's. In 87 a 88 he slagged JPJ a lot in the press.
-
To throw gas on the fire....they had to use JPJ's own signature song to define the whole thing "No Quarter".
-
I never thought RP was feminine.
-
I wish they had expanded their US set list to include other songs from their albums. By 77, they had played SIBLY too many times, great song, but come on. In their 77 set list, they should have left off SIBLY, No Quarter, White Summer/Black Mountain Side, maybe Moby Dick, Black Country Women, possibly a few others. They should have included, maybe, Over the Hills and Far Away, Misty Mountain Hop, For your Life, others......

The BBC 4 documentary on Peter Grant ("Mr. Rock & Roll") that originally aired September 24th 1999 is pretty much the definitive documentary on Grant as a manager, so I like this idea of a broader documentary on Peter Grant as a father as well as a manager.
How can we see this?

Bill Curbishley: Fired by Page, later let Plant go...

Did BC start managing Plant in 1982? I've never heard that before - I thought it was Phil Carson that managed him early on. It's confusing. Also - the selling of publishing shocks me, there isn't a lot of info about that.
