frederic
I want to share with everyone how I listen to the albums. Now with the newly released deluxe editions they are perfect. Some changed a lot some very little. I grew up flipping albums so these CD-Rs are just albums you don't have to flip. Any comments pro or con are welcome. paplbojo
Really cool idea. I like a lot of it. I may do something similar now... I have to ask one thing. Battle of Evermore --> Something Else (BBC) --> Stairway to Heaven Do you put tuna in between your peanut butter and your jelly?!?! What was your reasoning behind this one!? BoE sets the mood for STH so amazingly, I find. My two favorites that you did are inserting Girl I Love and Travelling Riverside Blues into II (though surprised to see no Bring It On Home) and White Summer into HoH. Sathington Willoughby
Yeah, it's fun to tinker with track listings like that sometimes. You should definitely replace Hats Off to Roy Harper with Key to the Highway/Trouble in Mind, though. Here's my "Best Of" playlist of the re-release bonus material: Disc One: 1. "Whole Lotta Love" (Rough Mix with Vocal) 2. "Bring it on Home" (Rough Mix) 3. "La La" (Intro/Outro Rough Mix) 4. "Since I've Been Loving You" (Rough Mix of First Recording) 5. "That's the Way" (Rough Mix with Dulcimer & Backwards Echo) 6. "Key to the Highway/Trouble in Mind" (Rough Mix) 7. "Stairway to Heaven" (Sunset Sound Mix) 8. "Moby Dick" Live – Olympia, Paris, 10 October 1969 Running Time: approx. 46 minutes Disc Two: 1. "The Song Remains the Same" (Guitar Overdub Reference Mix) 2. "Everybody Makes It Through" ("In the Light") (Early Version/In Transit) 3. "Houses of the Holy" (Rough Mix with Overdubs) 4. "10 Ribs & All/Carrot Pod Pod (Pod)" (Reference Mix) 5. "In the Evening" (Rough Mix) 6. "If It Keeps On Raining" ("When the Levee Breaks") (Rough Mix) 7. "Friends" (Bombay Orchestra) 8. "St. Tristan's Sword" (Rough Mix) Running Time: approx. 45 minutes
frederic
The main reason for 'something else' on the 4th album is to even up the times for the album sides. Without it the 2nd side is too much longer than the 1st. Other reasons are it fit where I put it and I wanted to include it cause I like the track. Like I mentioned before vinyl was the inspiration for this and the vinyl sides have to be as close in length as possible. 'Bring it on home' is out because its the one page riff I don't care for. La La is a much better track, its a shame he hid it all these years.
