  1. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

Last night: some potty-mouthed wanker wannabe-cowboy loser called Robert Blake, interviewed on Piers Morgan Tonight. WTF/LMFAO.

Actually, I found Piers Morgan be the wannabe wanker, like every other time he opens his gob.

  2. yes, i have seen documentaries on both these, and the footage is quite compelling, along with the fact there were many observers. the phoenix one was said to be massive.

My favorite part of the Phoenix sighting is the account made by real estate agents (if I remember correctly) who, in the middle of a meeting, all stopped to stare into the craft. They claimed they could see reflections of people looking back at them. Trippy.

  3. I'm not watching anything at the moment. Yesterday I watched about 10 minutes of the new National Geographic Channel show "Chasing UFOs". Man was that show fucking dumb!! The first 5 minutes wasn't so bad because they went to a town hall meeting and people were discussing what they "saw". And then the rest of the show was of the "chasers" with night gear whispering into walkie talkies as if the UFOs might hear them and get scared away! After that, I fast forwarded it until it was over. Haha! It was like one of those paranormal shows. Lame.

  4. my hubby goes outside at night to have a cigarette, and last night it was a clear night. he looked up and saw 8 lights that looked like stars, except they formed a V shape as they crossed the sky! they were only visible for about 3 seconds, and then went behind the treeline, so he didn't get a pic. we waited for awhile, but it didn't return.

Wow. What does your husband think it was?

  5. Julian Assange is currently waiting to know whether he'll be granted asylum in Ecuador.

    Latest Update:

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/wikileaks/9351182/Julian-Assange-Ecuadorean-ambassador-flies-home-for-talks-on-WikiLeaks-founder.html

I'm not sure why this isn't a topic of conversation here as it is quite important to any person in any pocket of the world. As good humanitarians, it's time we claim our position on the matter. Let's practice some of that democracy and keep irate dialogue to a minimum.

So what do you guys think? Should he be extradited to Sweden for questioning on the rape accusations, or should he be granted asylum in Ecuador?

Personally, I'm praying for the guy. I hope he gets asylum but I don't believe even there he'd be safe.

  6. Here's some more speculation..

There are 25 OTD's left to complete one full year from it's inception. Do you think it's just going to continue on the way it has for the past year, or do you think it'll will stop? And if you think it'll continue, do you believe it'll just be a rehash of old entries from last year??

  7. Typically only complainers want to hear complainers complain, it's a common bond.

And anyone making mental scenario's about someone other than themselves to fulfill some desire in themselves is a kook in my book.

So, what you're saying is people like SAJ (Sorry Steve, you are the Zep Guru here, so I'm using you as the example..) are complainers because they notice incorrect dates, spellings etc in the OTD and point them out?

The title of this thread is "Why Doesn't Pagey Do Something?" No one here has an ACTUAL answer..it's all speculation..mental scenarios if you like.

BS...when Robert Plant spoke his truth more than four years ago ("No") we saw how well that went...

Well, tough. As I expressed before, it's unfortunate that there are people out there who hang on every little word these guys or others say. I was just replying to a hypothotical statement made by Joe that Page is "probably fed up" with all the the bellyaching.

And if they rejected you for your honesty, then who gives a fuck?

  8. No venom, just being honest explaining my position on the matter.

If I encountered Page, I'd walk the other way...because I'd rather leave him alone.

Mental Scenarios only occur when people disagree with Page's choices? People aren't creating mental scenarios when they speak in defense/ or on behalf of Page?

Why isn't it okay for people to complain?

  9. Jimmy Page is in no way responsible for brightening up your life. He does not owe you an explanation on or about anything he chooses to do. He's an artist & business man who puts out his creations to the public when he desires & it's the publics choice to purchase those creations or not. He's also a human being who has a private life & most certainly he owes no explanations to anyone other than his family about how he chooses to spend it. He owes neither honesty or apologies to you or anyone on this board including myself. If you expend your energy waiting for the results of what I stated previously to change then that's your choice & Jimmy Page has nothing to do with that decision of yours & I'm sure Jimmy Page will continue go about his day as he see's fit as usual.

I guess you didn't read what I said...because if you had you would have noticed I started off my post by saying I couldn't care less what Page does or says.

I was merely replying to a hypothetical statement.

  10. I can't see what motivation he would have to tour at 68 years old. It is not as if he needs the money. The thought of being away from home and living out of a suitcase for a year or so probably wouldn't appeal.

Why wouldn't he be motivated to tour? He wouldn't be the first nor the last 68 year old to tour. What does money have to do with it? What happened to enjoying what you do? And he's not married anymore..probably doesn't have a whole lot of responsibility where his kids are concerned..I'm just guessing that last one because that's how "famous" people generally are.

Let's face it he probably is fed up of all the, will they?-- wont they?. Let's just leave him in peace to do whatevr he wants to do.

Who cares if he's fed up? And who cares if he tours or doesn't. Honestly, this whole thing has been a complete turn off. Unfortunately, I couldn't care less.

And if he actually "is" fed up, here's what I'd say to him.

Jimmy, you can have your "peace", so long as you give "peace" to your fans by telling them the truth. Whether you know it or not, there's a good probability that there are fans who work their lives away at some meaningless job and check your website everday to see if jimmypage.com has made their dream come true..."JIMMY PAGE RELEASES NEW ALBUM". And each day that passes by they wait ever so patiently for that email which would brighten their dull and empty lives. An email which may or may not ever come. Darling, you must remember most people have very little..and you've got far less troubles and you don't need to struggle to survive..And..I think some people are so emotionally attatched to your music they hang on your every word and take it to heart...Which is an unfortunate thing to do..but that's just the way those things go. How 'bout giving them a dose of honesty? "Hey, you know what guys? I really apologize, things are just not working at the speed I wanted or expected them to". And if they rejected you for your honesty, then who gives a fuck?

  11. ^ :veryhot:

Our 4 yr old daughter had a haircut yesterday - and she did the first half of it herself, LOL. My wife went upstairs to find her with a pair of scissors in her hand, and the whole left-hand side of her long black hair on the floor!! So of course my wife had to cut the other half off to make it look sane. She actually looks very cute now with her boyishly short hair, if a little lop-sided...

    Before:

    After:

Awww... how cute!! I did the same thing when I was 3. My little friends and I talked it over and decided that I needed a haircut ...so I stood on the bathroom counter and chopped half of it off. Haha! I remember my mom coming in to the bathroom and freaking out. Worked out well though, I had it cut into a Bob and obsessively maintained that look for a good 6 years!

  12. oh i agree. as i said, i think when some people are faced with this stuff, they get scared, and often overcompensate by name-calling etc

Seems it doesn't take much to get people to the point of name calling on this forum sometimes. Thanks for the warning ;)

Closer to home, we used to hang out in the summer at Grantchester Meadows (of Floyd fame). Often we would go there to trip, but this time we were only drinking. I recall feeling a kind of charged sensation at one point...and then we started to hear strange, unearthly moaning sounds. At first we thought it was a roaming cow, but there were none to be seen. Then we noticed a pulsing light behind some distant trees, and saw a cylindrical object rise slowly into the air, move away across the other side of the river, and disappear behind more trees. A couple of days later, there were reports of a similar object being spotted in the sky over a nearby village.

That's interesting about the moaning sounds. There are these "strange sounds" on Youtube and the uploaders "claim" to hear moaning sounds too. Some people speculate they are UFOs (?) Who knows....

Funny that things work out the way they did. You were only there to drink that night and you still managed to have a trip! ;)

I gotta disagree with you on these two SweetLittleBaby. These photos don't speak cute to me.

They belong in the "Makes your Heart Ache" file. Not a healthy period for Page. This first one in particular is an unfortunate reminder of the distance we're willing to go on the path to self-destruction. Those eyes scream pain...it's terribly sad... Sure hope he's healed from what ailed him.

  14. wow, i would love to experience something like that! i have been watching the skies for a few years now, but so far haven''t seen anything. my hubby saw a light a week ago that he is sure wasn't a plane, helicopter or star. but who knows.

i am a believer, by the way!

be prepared for some negativity in this thread ... i have tried numerous times to get conversations going along these lines, and i got a lot of it, and from long term posters too .... i think some people fear what they don't understand.

I was wondering if I was nuts bothering to crick my neck looking up into the sky. I'm about as unlucky as they come Slave..So keep watching!

Why is there negativity? It's the unknown..we're all in the dark. Exploring the unknown is supposed to be fun?

  15. This is a thread for anyone who sees something the sky. If you have or happen to see something, this is the place to tell it. :)

    I'm a sky watcher...Clouds..hawks..vultures, planes..other stuff?

I've been seeing a lot of weird things as of late..

A couple months back, 4 Boeing Chinook helicopters flew about 100 feet over my neighborhood, a month later it occured twice a day.

About a month ago, my sister and I saw a drone flying very low over roof tops well after midnight. No sound and it was moving verrry slow..It was so low I could make out it's shape and see the lights. Which left me thinking..what the hell are they doing?

Then tonight, I was outside at work smoking a cigarette, watching the jets coming and going to the airport..It was then that I thought I saw something moving above me...One large light.."star" who knows..

I got out of my car when I came home from work to make sure I wasn't losing my mind and called a friend outside to see..the whole time I was looking at this large light, my friend was watching something else that apparently was jumping around.....a few moments later I see this strange moving object (which I didn't even notice at first because i was so preoccupied with that damn light) zoom past what I was looking at and through the sky at LIGHTNING SPEED, then it disappeared..

At first we figured it was just that asteroid..actually a few hours late as it was to pass around 8:30..but my friend insists this was not moving straight...maybe it was a UFO..whatever it is..it was a truly awesome sight...watching the sky finally pays off!

  16. Truth be told, Jimmy will DO something when he's damn well READY to do something...whatever that something is. He doesn't "owe" anybody a thing.

It would be irrational for anyone to think he "owes" somebody new music. This has never been an issue for me, I just say he ought to stay true to his words; I expect this out of myself and anyone else. No big deal...I have no predjudgments or expectations of his abilities to release new music or tour. I doubt I'd have the opportunity to see him perform because concert tickets aren't getting any cheaper and Page would surely (if going the "big" route) be quite the fee. And, I would say I was and am disappointed by his website launch. The countdown IMHO was ridiculous. What a let down. I don't even bother with OTD anymore. But Oh Well!! :popcorn2:

  17. Let us not forget it was Page himself who started the new album and performance talk. Remember he was dying to get back on the stage? I posted several of his comments made prior to the book and website in the 5 pictures thread.

    He's not completely innocent.

  18. I found this from the book An American Band: The Story of Grandfunk Railroad By Billy James

We blew Led Zeppelin off stage!

In late summer of ‘69, Grand Funk continued to play more shows, receiving similar enthusiastic responses to the one at the Atlanta Pop Festival. The band were booked as the opening group for Led Zeppelin at Detroit’s Olympia Stadium. The audience’s reaction was so intense that Peter Grant, Led Zeppelin’s manager, pulled the plug on the group in the middle of “Inside Looking Out”. Grant, a six-foot-four-inch ex-wrestler, in furious rage grabbed Terry Knight by the throat and lifted him off the ground. Holding Knight eye-to-eye, Grant roared, “You’ll take the group off stage… immediately!” A visibel shaken Terry Knight proceeded to go on-stage and stop the group, exclaiming to the crowd, “Led Zeppelin are afraid to follow Grand Funk!” At that point the audience began to boo and hiss as Grand Funk left the stage. Sometime later, Lee Michaels took the stage and performed his set. By the time Led Zeppelin started their show the stadium was half full. “We blew Led Zeppelin off stage!”, Schacher remembers.

With more than a small amount of tension in the air, Grand Funk opened once again for Led Zeppelin in Cleveland, Ohio. The fans reaction was the same and subsequently Grand Funk were thrown off the tour, never to play on the same bill with Led Zeppelin again.

From an interview with Mark Farner:

NHOR : Grand Funk opened up for Led Zeppelin in 1969 at Detroit's Olympia Stadium and their manager Peter Grant actually pulled the plug on you guys. What was that like?

MF : I reckon that we were upstaging those boys who were fixing to come on, and they might've had a bit of difficulty after us. In fact, they waited an hour and a half before they took the stage after we left. I think it was just to let the audience cool down, but by that time half the audience had already left. They were pissed off. But that's the power of that three piece funk stuff from Flint, Michigan.

.....And another account from the book Whole Lotta Led Zeppelin

  19. http://www.stevehoff...211803-p-4.html

Somebody posted about a recollection by Mark Farner of Grand Fund Railroad...........I don't know if this is the specific instance but truth be told, if I was in that audience I'd have booed too.

I'm flabbergasted. Wow, if this is true, That's real low. Grand Funk, as they were called then, did not have fantastic guitar work or anything but they still had a sound that was powerful. First time I heard "Sin's a good man brother" i was blown away by the power of the bass.

As much as I love Zeppelin, I would have booed too. It just doesn't look right and it says something quite unsettling.
