Anyone know why the beat club footage from 1969, is lip synched? Where were they not allowed to just perform?
-
I can't remember which show it was on Zep, but I remember about a minute long of Pete Townsend whining about zeppelin becoming bigger than the who. He said he loved zeppelin and what they did but hates them for becoming bigger than the who.
Sorry Pete, Your shit is just too boring lad.

well i agree that these poor excuses for "mysteries" are indeed trivia...the one BIG REMAINING mystery of Led Zeppelin has to be how Bonzo actually died. I mean i know the official story, but Peter Grant was a very obsessive man. Always wanted control and always protecting his cash cows. Now, how could he allow Bonzo to die? Knowing that Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Keith Moon, Bon Scott and Jim Morrison all had killed themselves by overindulgence, dont you think Grant wouldve taken steps to ensure his charges didnt meet the same fate? Grant knew that the band was into excessive amounts of drugs and alcohol...especially by 1980...i mean...i am not pointing fingers, but it makes me scratch my head....
Kind of a assnineish 1st post yeah?

Ten Years Gone - "We are eagles of our nest, the nest is in our soul"
Pure poetic/musicianship.
or
Rain Song - "Speak to me only with your eyes, it is to you i give this tune"
-
I liked that fact that Jason had some class and was not swearing his head off like Motley Crew.
Its spelled ' Motley Crue' lololol
-
I am eager to see a setlist!
-
Excellent pieces of music on this album.

And of course the closest the tour comes to Missouri is damn Tulsa, OK. Also, WTF is so special about Canada? Zeppelin toured Canada 3 times????
-
Definitely 6/21/77 or Vienna 73, TSRTS is a great version too obviously.

This is Tough:
LZ1: "You Shook Me" (I love blues but the other songs top this i feel)
LZ2: "Ramble On" (I play this in my band, once again the other songs overtower)
LZ3: "Hats off to Roy Harper" (Think everyone agrees)
LZ4: "Black Dog" (Overplayed)
HOTH: "No Quarter" (Prefer the Live versions)
PG: "Boogie With Stu"
Presence: "Candy Store Rock"
ITTOD: "Hot Dog"
Coda: "Poor Tom"

Hey Steve, Putting aside the '77 Houston show, what do you think is the most hoarded show out there (film/video or tape/reel/cassette, etc.). I love the rumors on this stuff!
I love the rumors on that stuff as well, I personally think it would be a casette or reel before Gonzaga!

My parents saw the Firm in 1985, couple months before I was born. Love The Firm, Midnight Moonlight being my fave.
-
I haven't seen it yet, so I dont think it has been posted, excellent link Wolfman

Okay thought so, had just heard the rumors wanted to clarify. I didnt think someone was unplugging him.
-
Ross is a dirtbag. What a horrible thing to say about this venture.
If you like the idea-great.
If you don't -fine, no problem.
but to accuse jason of this is pitiful to say the least.
Very Very well said.

Jimmy performed that song eight times in 1983 (two concerts in the UK and six in the US) with Clapton and Beck, and the three of them traded solos while doing so. Which performance are you referring too because
I have never heard of such a thing (the unplugging of his guitar)?
This is during the 2nd verse of the pro-shot footage from the ARMS show. The man comes up from behind Jimmy, and yanks a cord out of the ground and some people are saying they were unplugging jimmys guitar.
I was not aware there was 8 total shows that year with the trio.
-
I apologize in advance if this has been spoke of already, but my dad brought this up to me & now I am curious myself if anyone knows...
ARMS concert, Jimmy is playing with D&D's song "Layla", before I fell asleep through listening to Clapton play, I notice a man comes up and yanks a cord out beside Jimmy. I have done a little research and most people are saying they were unplugging Jimmy's guitar. Can anyone clarify?

He Says 'Gentle', you have a problem with your hearing if you think its anything else. No offense.
-
Very interesting. This would be cool to see. I love seeing the tribute band 'Zoso', this would be a great expierence also.
-
I used to watch it up until Hicks won it.
And usually who ever wins, ends up being some country star or some pop diva..
Haha, hicks fuck everything up usually.
Thats what that show is for, is to make someone somewhere a buncha money. They want people with looks that they can sell, no musical talent.
-
Thank you Steve, was always curious about the MSG shows 73.
I wish something new would surface like a complete audience shot show.
-
Steve, big fan of this thread!
I have a question, might be dumb, but ya know.
What was done with all the footage filmed for the Song Remains the Same movie? They filmed 3 nights, does Jimmy own all the footage? Are there 3 complete shows on video out there?

I just found out I have this Thursday off so I went ahead and got a ticket for this weeks Harrah's show in Northern KC. Excited to say the least, then I see Bonham with BCC in a month in St. Louis!
