  1. Hmm... Did you try rateyourmusic.com?

Now, I can be kinda stupid, but I think they have the release dates there.

Then go on down to the albums, and I just clicked on their first one.

And then it takes you to a big ol' long list of releases. When you click on one of them, it takes you to a page with more info on it, which includes the date. Sometimes the date is just the year, and sometimes it's got the day and month, too.

I'm not seeing 1985... sad.gif Perhaps it's in compilations or something. I'm gonna go look. A mystery is afoot!

EDIT: Nope, still can't find anything around the mid-80s. Thus, rym may not be all that comprehensive.

  2. September 1974 is almost certainly correct. I don't have my copy of this magazine to confirm if it is lit but regardless, the evidence suggests beyond a reasonable doubt he was smoking.

    Awesome. Thanks for the info!

    EDIT:

More articles... Don't have many, so I'll be running out, soon.

I just recently went through all the Zep mags I had and found they were all stored shoddily in a banged-up old cardboard box. So I restored all of them but scanned them beforehand, just in case the tornadoes have it out for us this year. I'm just posting everything I scanned.

  3. I have what I assume is the prequel to that article - sorry I have had to scan in two parts as my scanner is only a4, hope you guys can make sense of it.

Oh, awesome! Great pic of Bonzo. I had never even heard of BAM until I saw this article.

    Here's an article from Ciao2001, 13 May 1973:

And I completely forgot to resize these images, so uh... cover's, like, 2350 x 3065 or something. Slow connections be warned.

    Regarding Jimmy's smoking habits...

I have about 3200 pics of Mr. Page, mostly between 1968 and 1980 during Zep with a couple from the Yardbirds era and before. Even though this will make me sound like I have autism, I went through each pic and put keywords on them -- so I could find 'em easier. Things like "blue dress shirt" or "double-necked." Every time I saw a cigarette, I added that as a keyword.

SO! I searched my Jimmies for "cigarette," and the earliest date I have is April 1, 1977 -- the Dallas show that started the 1977 US tour.

    Unless you count this:

I found Sep 1974 as the date for it, but that could be wrong. Also, that sucker may not even be lit.

  4. I love that above deutsch foto, and I found it (and the others from that set) here:

    http://ledzeppelin.a...m/pictures.html

    By Mr. Bernd Kröppel. :)

I'm not sure if we're still talking about Mr. Heilemann's photos or not? If so, I seem to recall that he took some Zep photos over in England, so he traveled a bit. Y'know the video of the May 25th Earl's Court performance? There's a part where Planty says something about a German photographer "who doesn't even say 'hello,'" whilst gesturing into the audience (with a big ol' smile, of course.) I've always figured he was referring to Bubi, cuz I swear Mr. Heilemann took some pics at Earls Court....

    ...*checking*...

Okay, yeah, I found this pic in Q, credited to Heilemann:

    2nb85f5.jpg

And I guess I thought it looked like Earl's Court.

But magazines aren't always right, so... grain of salt!

Can't remember exactly what we're talking about, but I hope this helps.

EDIT: I remember my point. Not all of Mr. Heilemann's shots may be from Germany. There we go!

  5. This is one of my favorite Jimmies:

    2dl29e1.jpg

Cute as a bug's ear. Still shakin' off that Yardbirdish air.

Also, I never realized this until recently, but he's a very good smiler:

    2h4x9i0.jpg

I been wondering if he taught himself to smile like that, or if it comes naturally. Cuz he's a good showman, y'know?

  6. I know this is 71', any Idea where?

I'm sure someone with the answer will be along, but my guess is somewhere in Europe, because it was taken by Wolfgang Heilemann. (His nickname is "Bubi," which is pretty appropriate since he was the one who gave us that shot of Robert with the topless girl on his lap. Heavens!)

I also attached a big Jimmy pic, cuz it was too big to post. All probably the same place/time. Hopefully someone'll enlighten us both to the exact date. :)

  7. Fab? I think "fab" doesn't even come close to hotness like that  And that last scan..What do you think you're doing to me? My heart fluttered when I saw that :notworthy: Good lord have mercy^^ I think I'll have to get this old Rave mag. Can you give me details on this particular issue this pic was published in? That'd be cool

It took some digging, but I found the info for ya:

    Rave - Sept 1974

I think it was a British teen mag, so if you're in Deutschland, you might have better luck finding it than I did in the States. :)

Oh, also, there's no other Zeppelin stuff in it except for that pin-up, so make sure no one's pulled the pin-up out of it!

  8. OMG OMG OMG OMG :faint1::drool::veryhot: (couldn't find any more emoticons to describe my feelings^^)..thanks so much for that..as I got most of my pics ffrom here I don't have anything to share yet, but as soon as I have you'll see it..OMG again^^

Wasn't that fab? I scanned it out of that Good Times, Bad Times book by Hullett and Prochnicky. Very good book, by the way. Lotsa cool photos I'd never seen before.

Here's one from Bath 1970 that I found in an old Rave from 1974, I think:

  9. Now I posted this pic yeeeears ago on here for an opinion, and all I recall was a teeny bit of contention. I don't remember if anyone had a definitive answer.

    szx0cm.jpg

I found this pic in a stack of unorganized Zeppelin clippings that I got from... Argentina, I think. The caption's long gone, but it was in Spanish and definitely indicated that it was Jimmy Page. I have a hard time believing it, though. This gentleman seems to have an impressive overbite, which I've never noticed in regards to Jimmy.

    Anybody know anything? huh.gif
