Does any know if the band knew it was going to be the largest crowd that they ever played in front of?
-
what im saying is 20 years from now the number of people that will pay top dollar for it will drop dramatically
-
if there is a video of this concert they should hurry up and put it out before everyone dies that want to buy it. it been long enough lets see it. this new generation wont pay as much for it as mine would. get it while you can

@jpenzabene, in the timeline part of this website there is an article about filming the show. it mentions a man named Newsome and his firm Mobile Tape who did a KISS show at COBO. the article isn't full and i dont no what paper its from but it might lead us to something. rock and roll on.I am wondering if there is any recordings out there of the show they did at the Silverdome ?????

thank you so much for this pics and yes it would be the holy grailThis was the 17th show of the 1977 US tour and the last show of the 1st leg of the tour. The audience of 77,229 at the this show was the largest audience for a single-act concert. The previous record was 56,800 set in May 1973 at a Zeppelin show in Tampa Bay. This show was also videotaped (you can see cameramen in several of the photos filiming the action)and the images were shown on a large video screen above the stage. All these years later Zeppelin fans are waiting for this Holy Grail to surface.

FYI the inner jackets on ITTOD albums are water color paintables. they produced 4 different inner jackets(sleeve's) for the album. i have 2 of them.
-
if you still have ITTOD the inner jackets are water color paintableITTOD and PRESENCE were the two albums that i bought as they were released, as i was old enough by that time,
it was exciting waiting for them to be released
oops edited to add, i love ITTOD ( and hot dog! )

Happy Birthday John Paul Jones

its a shame that if they do have video of Pontiac '77 they are sitting on it. put the greatest band ever, in front of the biggest crowd ever(at the time), out so the whole world can seeBut collectors would sell to each other, knowing they won't resell to a bootlegger.
Some hoarders won't sell to bootleggers. EVSD would NEVER pay enough to unearth the good stuff like Pontiac 77. They only get what is cheap enough to make them a profit.
