My friend Magilla Gorilla. Bronx Zoo.
She looks smarter and more alert than some humans I know.

He works in television so perhaps he's a friend of Page's elder son.

I love the Immagrant song!!!!!!!!!!
IIRC, the film on the left is from an interview Plant and Peter Grant gave around the release of The Song Remains the Same.

The uncorrupted choirboy. . .
This is a good photo. Notice the way it is lit, the placement of the candle, etc. It looks like a professional job which leads me to wonder: who took this photo and when did they take it? The fact that it is still around after 60 or so years implies that someone cherished it and kept it in a safe place.
-
I bet the good doctor could dish some dirt if he wanted. Of course, he'd probably be setting himself up for lawsuits if he did so.
-
I've always loved that picture, he is so sweet here
Sweet isn't exactly the word I would use here. Nick Kent once opined that Jimmy Page looked like a corrupt choirboy. It's an apt description of the above photo. It also reminds me of a portrait I saw of a young Renaissance nobleman in velvet attire many years ago. The nobleman had pale skin, black hair and almond-shaped eyes. Who knows? Page may have been aiming for that look when he ordered his pink velvet suit.

Robert said once in an interview that he got into the bath tub with jeans on and let them dry on him, so that's why they were tight. Not sure if he was joking or serious, but it makes sense!
Thank you, Honeydrip. LOL, the things our rock stars did for their art!

I'm surprised that a band of The Yardbirds' stature agreed to perform at a high school; even a very large one. It would seem a step down from venues like The Whiskey-a-Go-Go or the Fillmore. Had Peter Grant taken over as their manager by this time?

What a lovely thing to say about John Paul Jones, and entirely on the money I might add
Yes, it was. I wonder if he and Jones would ever consider collaborating on a project without Jimmy Page?

...The whole smoking ban on planes is kind of stupid. I mean, there's always going to be a certain percentage of people who are scared of flying (Jimmy definitely was at one point - don't know if it improved any with age), and a certain percentage of those will be smokers whose usual coping strategy when feeling jittery is to have a fag. If you deny them that, then they just self-medicate by drinking too much. Air rage incidents have shot up since the complete ban on smoking on planes, and so has the rate of people picking up infections on planes, because they're recycling the air (and any viruses and bacteria that are in it) more - when there's smoking on a plane, they legally have to completely change the air more frequently. Airlines would save themselves a lot of grief if they brought back smoking sections. Either that or make it standard practice to hand out nicotine sprays or something...
The problem with smoking sections is that the cigarette smoke would invariably drift over to the non-smoking section and bother the rest of us. I'm not without sympathy for people who dread flying. However, they could probably find coping strategies that don't infringe on other people if they only asked their doctors.
-
He's Jimmy Page and he can smoke anywhere he bloody well wants to! lol.
But seriously...in this day and age, he might want to go back to private planes and avoid the noxious non-smokers. ;-)
Even rock gods don't get to pollute my air with their cigarettes.

Not really TV but I just finished watching a 1981 episode of "Guiding Light" on Youtube. Daytime soap operas were much better back then. I think the big difference was the writing was character driven instead of plot driven.

Not only were those jeans painted on tight; he also wore them very low on his hips. He probably had to wear a belt with them in order to keep them up. I've often wondered about the following:
1) How did he get them that tight? Were they custom made for him or did he buy off-the-rack jeans that were already a bit snug then wash them in hot water?
2)Could he get them on and off by himself or did he need help? (I'm being serious here so no lewd comments.)
3) Did he wear a dance belt underneath them or did he go commando? No way he's wearing briefs or even bikini briefs. The outline would be visible given how tight his jeans were.

The window shades I want for my bedroom were still on sale at Home Depot this evening.

What do you mean Vancouver doesn't have winter? Isn't the climate similar to that of Seattle, Washington? I know the latter city has winter because I've visited relatives who live there during the Christmas holidays. It didn't snow but it was certainly cold and damp.Vancouver has no winter, and Calgary has summer in the winter which comes and goes every 48 hours. Halifax has no snow and winter much like Boston or New York.

Hey, I'm not really invested in one word or the other. Neither would change the general thrust of the lyrics: "We're Vikings and we've come to conquer your land." It's my all-time favorite Zep song. And boy, did Robert Plant look the part with his height, flowing blond hair and beard circa 1970.It's "blow." There isn't a debate. If you hear "flow," get your ears checked.
-
I vote for "flow".

Did he ever lose his medical license or face any other professional sanctions?

I've visited Canada three times and liked what I saw of the country each time. I was particularly impressed with Toronto which I visited in 2003. It reminded me of Chicago only much cleaner. I'm sure it has its share of typical big-city problems, but I could easily see myself living there. The only drawback would be the winters.
-
A lovely photo of Plant. His hair looks more brown than blond here. I guess it was the lighting. -
All in the Family was must-see TV in the 70's. Jean Stapleton's character, Edith, was a brilliant foil to Carroll O'Connor's Archie. Rest in peace dear lady.1 of the all time greats.. Rest In peace Edith Bunker......

This reminds me of an interview with Plant I read several years ago. In it he mentioned that he didn't have as much money as people might imagine because he spends a lot of money on various projects, etc. I got the impression that Plant is financially generous to projects and causes he supports. Good for him! He comes across as a very interesting man who is engaged with the world around him. I chuckled at his crack about Patti's fighting abilities. Thanks ProPlant for sharing this interview with us.Robert's official site has the article up now...
MP: Is there anything that you would like to create with your life from this point forward?
RP: Well I’m supporting some people. Experts in medicine, back in the UK. Which is not my creation, but by being attentive and by being supportive, I’m able to help in endeavors which could lead to a lot, as far as bringing health and maintaining health is concerned. I’m more of a supporter...

In the novel, Dorian Gray led a very dissolute life. In person he appeared to never age but a portrait he hid away in his attic reflected the effects of his lifestyle and the passing years on his face.I know he aged whenever he sinned or something like that
-
I don't think we can judge this solely by comparing current photos of both men. We would have to observe them in person in order to gauge their physical and mental agility.I thinjk he aged better than Robert, wonder why as I think he had a tougher life with all the drugs
Jimmy Page Interview 1984
in Pre / Post-Zeppelin Forum

I don't think Page was wearing a wig. I think his hair was permed; hence the uniform curls. Check out his lilac suit! Only rock stars and pimps can get away with wearing something that flashy in public.
Aen27 beat me to it. Yes, it was a perm. Thank you for verifying the year. I didn't think this interview could be from 1984 since Page and the interviewer discuss the Mean Business album.
