Well Done Conquistador! This issue is now settled. I hope.
-
Play "In the Light" during the eclipse so that the moment has relevance to this Forum.
-
I was at the Forum in LA for that show too. Wait a minute ...SuperDave....so if it is true that Page did play Layla (albeit the end), then just MAYBE Page once played a You Really Got ME....perhaps at the end,... so there could be some truth to Eddie Kramer's claim. Meaning that this entire conversation has been entire waste of time! 🙂 WOW

Yes indeed, it was an attempt to poke fun at music clickbait sites rehashing stuff that may have been mildly interesting in the past, and referencing, in jest Jimmy's focus on remastering everything and selling his signatures --- rather than putting out any new music over the last 25 years.
-
Well, maybe we will learn the real truth in Jimmy's autobiography that he says he will release after he is gone. But, first Jimmy has to finish the remastering the Yardbird's catalogue and accompanying autographed picture book for $599 dollars.
-
So Jimmy says no and the Kinks say no. Hmm. I heard another rumor that Jimmy played the solo on Layla. Jimmy and Clapton deny it, but you never know.
-
I think most of the comments relate toward the producers of the "Becoming" (or Never-coming) documentary. Perhaps they are reading this strand and realizing that its Becoming a joke.
-
It's hilarious to think that solving the question of who was the old thatcher man on the fourth album is far more interesting news than the status of a "Not Coming in Your Lifetime" Led Zep documentary. I think it is time for most of us to spend more time making sure we have fully analyzed all of the photos on the cover of the 3rd Album. 🙂

Whatever happened to this documentary? Has it gone the way of Jimmy's next album? Perhaps they should just down load it onto YouTube and call it a day?

“Getting lost on the way to the stage — that was us, playing in Baltimore. It took twenty-five minutes to do the hundred yards from our Holiday Inn through the kitchen to the arena.”
ROBERT PLANT DESCRIBES THE THIS IS SPINAL TAP SCENE BASED ON LED ZEPPELIN

its quite good but love the earlier stuff especially Principle of the Moment.
-
excellent
-
tough spot for the guitarist, he was really trying his best.....
-
Thanks Speedy. Whether the mythic tape of the entire concert exists or not, your video has made a lot of Zep kooks happy.

Photo of the arena shows you how small the venues were. It still blows my mind that they did not sell out some of them. European fans?

St Andrew’s College cover of Stairway to Heaven goes viral
A student performance of the classic Led Zeppelin song Stairway to Heaven at a high school prizegiving has gone viral.

I saw the ARMS show at the LA Forum. I remember the audience's hysteria as he walked on to the stage. It was as loud as a jet plane taking off. The famous music writer Robert Hillburn wrote that Jimmy could have walked off the stage, never played a note and the crowd would not have cared in the least. Regrettably, Jimmy seemed almost out of it. High as a kite, thin as a wire, unsteady -- and for a moment or two, he was brilliant, Most of us were cheering for the Death Wish songs because we felt like we had to ---while we waited for Stairway. When he played Stairway, it did not sound the same, but we did not care.... it was Stairway and Jimmy Page was playing. We went home happy and a little sad.
-
Looks like he has lost few pounds.
-
The more interesting question is what if Bonzo survived, could he and Page somehow overcome the addictions to save the band?
-
What a silly rant by a bitter guy! Of course, I was at the O2 reunion so I understand his agony of never seeing the band. Robert did not want to be a Las Vegas act.
-
Oh the glory! Thank you for posting!
-
It's fun to have as a memory of the concert, but I am open to selling it.

The same famed poster appears to be on sale on ebay for about $200 dollars.
