  1. Thank you for welcoming me to this forum and those fab photos. Haven't seen them before! 😁 Re the Melbourne concert in 1972: when he first came on stage, Robert said he was ill and recently heard him in an interview say that he'd completely lost his voice on this day of show so went to a doctor who gave him a huge shot of adrenalin so that he could perform that night. He said no singer these days would treat their voice that way. But back then, the show had to go on. That said, the show was amazing, loud and those unforgettable songs sounded wonderful. I don't remember the storm but I was discussing the concert with a friend a few weeks ago when we discovered we were both there although we didn't know each other then. He said the concert was cut short and he was wandering down Collins Street distraught! Great memories of a wonderful time to be young and of this spectacular band of music makers that we're still listening to, idolising and discussing all these decades later.
  2. Every time I see photos of this show I think that too. Poor dear Robert. My heart still breaks for him 😪
  3. Hi, was a full on fan back in the beginning and even attended their concert here in Melbourne, Australia on 20 Feb 1972, aged 17 yo. Listened throughout the 70s then something happened; I dunno work, kids, life just got in the way and I guess as they broke up in 1980 they just sort of faded out of my consciousness. Fell for Rod Stewart in 1971 too which took me off track! Still heard the old faves on FM radio constantly and recently listening to entire albums I'm amazed at how many of their songs I actually remember. Fast forward to April 2023 and I decided to go to a Jason Bonham LZ show and was blown away by how those wonderful songs still sound 40-50 (gulp) years later. The set list was amazing and I have spent the past months since playing the albums non-stop, reading any information I can get my hands on, looking at photos and of course, falling in love all over again with the luscious Mr P. Very happy to be a member of this forum to keep learning about and loving the greatest rock band of all time ❤
