  1. Just watching the Rose Bowl Football game between The Univesity of Southern California vs. The University of Illinois.....

The game has been pretty boring, but the during the halftime coverage, The Illinois Marching Band did a pretty inspiring version of Stairway...

Pretty big stones for the school to do that in a game of this caliber...

But hell yeah... I love the stones of the music director to jam a Zep tune!!!

HUGE Illinois fan.... (for the second half anyway)

  2. I am not 100% sure it is For Your Life... I'm pretty sure that could have been taken out of context... I bet they are running through alot of the unplayed classics and For Your Life is the one that he mentioned...

They have also mentioned Night Flight, In the Light, Houses of the Holy...

This is all just speculation anyway...

For what it's worth, I really hope it's In The Light

  3. Why do you not belive Page is the best, and who is better? I'll tell you why I believe he is the best. He was obviouly lead Guitarist for the most important/influencial/great (take your pick) Rock band of all time. He is the only double inductee into the Rock & Roll HOF (Yardbirds & Zeppelin) who was inducted for his guitar contributions alone (Clapton was inducted for his all around performance). Led Zeppelin is the largest selling Rock Band (Beatles are more pop rock) of all time. They have broke all existing attendance records, and their records still stand in the States. All this and much more without the aid on promotion, television exposure, etc.. Their music spoke volumes. From Page's days as a sessions worker he became the most in demand guitarist in England, playing on 50-90% of all records recorded in London (or so legend has it). He was in my opinion the greatest riff creator ever as Zeppelin has countless songs that everyone would know. How many true hits can you list from great bands like The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Cream, The Stones, The Who, etc... Not nearly as much as Zeppelin. Page was so versitile, coming from his days as a sessions worker, he could play a wide range of styles and be great with all of them, he was never limited to one sound. Not to mention is legendary production abilities which only enhanced his works, i could go on and on.

As far as the Plant vs Mercury angle. Did you know that Plant was Mercury's favorite vocalist? Yes, Robert had a legendary swagger and might have invented what a true rock front man was suppsoed to be. Mercury was totally different, and great in his own way, a bit essentric to say the least. But when it comes to Vocal Range and ability, I believe Mercury is hands down the best and it blows my mind. I would certainly put Plant as 2nd, even though alot of people don't believe in rankings. Its the easiest way i can try to explain it.

Page is as much rewarded for his writing as much as his playing.( lets not get into the ARMS benefit debacles)Clapton is a 3 time inductee... The only one... Cream, Yardbirds, Solo... Stones also had more "hit" singles...

I agree that they are the best all around band of all time, but don't knock the other incredible artists...

  4. Do you mean that they've been working on performing this live, or do you mean just a completely new song? Because there's already a Led Zeppelin song called For Your Life. :P

Not "brand new"... Just a song from the catalog that they have never performed Live....

I'm going with In The Light

  5. Zoso, could you say where you heard or read that In The Light and The Rover are going to be played at the O2 Concert ? ? ? ?

I think that's wonderful that they are going to play those songs ! ! ! !

    Any chance they'll be doing Carouselambra ? ? ? ?

They used to sneak in parts of Carouselambra during the Clarksdale tour. During the middle of In The Evening they would do the slow part of C..ambra

  6. In The Light

JPJ and Robert have always longed to do this song live. They were restricted with technology in the old days. This would be the perfect time....

    Other possibilities...

Tea For One - Robert and Jimmie did it in Japan in the late 90's...

Fool In The Rain - Robert performed it with Pearl Jam once. Said it was the only time he ever had...

    I'm Gonna Crawl

  7. I seriously doubt that they will. I think they are going to dig deep into the catalog and blow us all away with an incredible setlist.

If I were to bet I would say no, they won't do it. Robert has stood by his guns this long. Why would he change now.

Also, the song that they have never performed.... It will be In The Light. JPJ and Percy have always wanted to perform that song and they were restricted by the technology of the times...

    You heard it here first!!!!
