  1. They'll be doing a two night stand at the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro, NC soon but it's on a Tuesday and Wednesday night.

I'm in a similar situation. Jason Isbell will be in Oxford soon, but on a Thursday.

Two nights in Carrboro eh? I don't know how big the Cat's Cradle is, but it sounds like the tour is going well. They actually switched to a larger venue for the Memphis show, and Boston is already sold out.

  2. I saw Robin Trower a few weeks back at the Daisy on Beale St. in Memphis and I was in Classic Rock heaven. I hope he never quits.

I had a chance to meet him after the show, really nice guy.

I saw the Drive-By Truckers last night , also at the Daisy... Nothing but whiskey-fueled sonic bliss from start to finish.

  3. I am a Stones fan saw them in baton rouge 75 and new orleans 78 and 81 all three shows were good 75 being the best to me.

I caught the 81 show in the Super Dome as well, great show. George Thorogood opened up as I recall. Seems like another band was there too, just can't remember.

  4. Artists such as Joe Bonamassa,Kenny Wayne Sheppard,Albert Cummings Have the ability to bring back the blues, but It seems a harder road nowadays.

The old guard is slowly dying off. Only a lucky few it seems, are able to become understudies of some of the greats.

Richard Johnston is one of them, learning directly from the late great R.L Burnside and others from the Mississippi Hill Country region.
