A driver has been jailed for seven-and-a-half years for causing the death of schoolboy by dangerous driving in Bradford in October.

Zain Khan, 21, of Halifax, was sentenced at Bradford Crown Court for causing the death of Bilal Khizar.

The 12-year-old boy was hit by the car being driven by Khan on a crossing on Rooley Lane.

Khan had previously pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving at Bradford Crown Court.

He had also admitted dangerous driving and perverting the course of justice.

'One in a million'

A family statement said: "We mourn and weep for Bilal every second of every day and would give anything to have him back.

"He was one in a million: kind, loving, happy, sincere, loyal, genuine, humble, caring, affectionate and, most of all, religious."

The statement went on to thank the community in the Parkside area of Bradford, witnesses who came forward and the people who helped Bilal at the scene of the accident.

Det Supt Mark Ridley of West Yorkshire Police said: "Khan's reckless actions whilst behind the wheel took the life of a young boy, devastating a family, a school and a community."

Apparently he was driving at over 80 mph in a 30mph zone , all he got was 7 years , he should be castrated and given 15 years at least for driving that much over the limit
