  1. 8 months down the line and I haven't seen a single horror movie that doesn't even deserve to lick the heels of A L'Interieur. I've seen the classic Ils some time ago. It's an awesome, awesome movie, but it's nothing compared to A L'Interieur, and that's saying a lot!

I'm absolutely sure A L'Interieur is the single best horror movie of all time!! B)

  2. I agree in that singers can completely ruin a band.

I can't stand the vocalists for Dream Theatre, Cradle Of Filth, Axl Rose And His Guns and indeed Megadeth.

I simply don't understand why they ever thought 'Damn, this sounds fucking cool, man!'

    I mean... damn!

  3. for the most part, I'm not a fan of modern metal, especially not Death Metal or Black Metal..I simply don't consdier it true music and I'm sure some of you will get upset by that. That's fine, it's your right to like it and mine not to. More power to you.

Im think you're totally right. Most death/blackmetal just get me tired, because I think just tuneless noise and someone barking intelligible satanic crap over it is just fucking boring and cliched. 'We are fast and loud and kick ass!!!', Yeah, right....

I think metal kicks ass when something gets 'done' with it, be it played very tight and heavy, or bringing in progressive elements, because I think those elements make it earcandy, sometimes even for the curious.

  4. Okay, here's my kudo's to:

    Meshuggah

    Helmet

    Tool

    Kyuss

    Filter

Killing Joke (Judging from their more recent albums I consider 'em 'metal')

    (Old) Slayer

    (Old) Sepultura

    (Old) Metallica

    (Old) Anthrax

    Sabbath

    Zep (ofcourse)

    Pantera

    Prong

    Ministry

    I'm adding Chevelle.

  5. My favourite Sabbath song is Sabbra Cadabra. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath was the first ever album I got on vinyl :D . That and Paranoid is the only Sabbath material I'm familiar with though, I'm not really a big 'fan', I just like the music.

Get the ones that are mentioned, but also Technical Ecstacy and Never Say Die! People have been talking shit about them. It's all fucking nonsence, they're awesome, you should get em! B)

  6. One of the members said bad things about the Clash

    Therefore they (the police) suck

    That's childish.

You know, Stewart Copeland, he invented sarcasm, so you should take it with a pinch of salt.

Musicians often bitch at each other for petty reasons.

Why should you give a fuck?

  7. Could not find a Jimi thread after doing a few searches. I am very surprised to discover this, as I put him right up there with Zeppelin.

I have been enjoying much of his live stuff lately and would like to ask those of you who have the 4 CD box set "The Jimi Hendrix Experience" (the one with the purple cover) just what you think of it?

It's on sale at a local store (Virgin) for $40.

I haven't seen it for a reasonable price yet (I'm not gonna pay €45,- for 4 cd's), but I'm sure I'll find it cheaper when I decide to get it.

Jimi's great, but often his more melodic songs get overlooked. Axis is my favourite album while most go for the more 'experimental' stuff on the debut or Electric Ladyland.

I've got Are You Experienced, Axis: Bold As Love, Electric Ladyland, The Singles Album, Band Of Gypsies, First Rays Of The New Rising Sun, South Saturn Delta and Woodstock.

  8. I've been foaming over this lately:

Yep, that's the original debut album of Queens Of The Stone Age that isn't available anymore in red vinyl!!! B)

It's just €11,- in my favourite record store in Amsterdam and I hope they still have it in a couple of weeks when I set to get back.
