"YYZ" by Rush. All day!! Not that there's anything wrong with that (gotta add that Seinfeld reference in there). GREAT SONG!!!

I heard "All My Love" this morning on the way to work on 97.9 The Loop here in Chicago.

I voted for "In Through The Out Door." Mostly because I loved the fact that you could get 1 of the 6 different sleeves and it all represented a different view point of someone at the bar in the picture. The brown paper bag was/is kinda cool too. I love PG and HOTH's covers too but I have always loved the idea and creativeness behind ITTOD's.

It would have to be The Song Remains the Same for me. It just has so much energy, and is so different from anything else on HOTH, and I love how the Rain Song follows it.
I couldn't agree more with this. It may not be my favorite opening song but it does fit HOTH as the opener.

What's everyone's favorite album opener and why? Maybe it's because of these songs is your personal favorite from the band or you just like the way it ties in with the rest of the album. Or maybe you just like one of these the most.
For me, I chose "Black Dog" because I love the tone it sets for the rest of IV. It may not be my favorite of the nine songs in the poll, but I always hear it and know that the rest of the album to follow is going to be amazing. I just love this song, but I love it even more as an album opener.
Please share with me your pick and reason(s).

Can't go wrong with the lyrics to Tangerine. I love those lyrics more and more with each listen.

I think it's a real harmonica. I just know that Plant was very good at playing them and that they would want the most authentic sounding music possible. Of course, that's just my ear and I could be wrong.

Run Like Hell - Pink Floyd

Not one, but TWO billboards of Robert Plant on the Tri-state tollway south of Chicago - just about caused a crash when i saw them. I think they were for a radio station.
97.1 FM The Drive to be exact. I took pictures of them.

I have always referred to myself as a Zephead. I don't care what it's called. I am a lover of their amazing music. I do like Zepaholics though. I never want to kick that addiction.

I love to collect shirts that i see and HAVE to own. Programs from concerts and books on them that seem new and interesting as well. I wish i could afford to collect more.

That's just so awesome!!!!

Although we all have different tastes in Zeppelin...i think it's a great song. The lyrics and Bonham's drums allow the rest of the song to come into it's own.

Oh man.....I've had these types of arguments before. Led Zeppelin is so much better, but AC/DC is a great band too. They make different music, but nothing as artistic or classic.

Whatever i can get my hands on!

I chose "other". I love "The Rain Song" lyrics.

Rush is such a great band. I just saw them this past Tuesday, April 12th in Chicago for the "Time Machine Tour." It was my second time seeing and hopefully not the last. I love this band and they are fantastic live. Their music is complicated, fun, artistic, beautiful, and hard, all at the same time. Just watch a live clip or live DVD and my point will be made. I got into them about 8-9 years ago. I heard a song called "Fly By Night" and I knew I had to hear more from whatever bands song it was. I now have all their studio albums on my MP3 and love to listen to them. I have a live CD and three live DVD's. Rush is truly timeless.
My favorite thing about them is their ability to create an instrumental song. No rock band may be able to match them in that department. YYZ, La Villa Strangiato, Leave That Thing Alone, Hope, Malignant Narcissism, etc. It just shows the mastery they have over their instrument(s).
My five favorite albums from them would have to be:
1. Moving Pictures
2. Fly By Night
3. Grace Under Pressure
4. 2112
5. Power Windows
